I have an ST. My BMW motorcycle experience started with an '03 1150R went to an '04 1150GS and was planning on waiting for an R1200R or pulling the string on an r1200gs when I spotted a demo silver/blue ST. Got a smoking deal and am very happy. The leaned over position takes a little getting used to...

Re: ST
Just picked up my ST today. Gotta great deal on it b/c it was a demo. Very impressed so far. My last bike was an 1150GS, so this feels much lighter and quicker. There is more of a "hole" at lower rpm's than I am accustomed. Found myself in lower gears than with either of my 1150's. Frankly...

Re: Quest
I have a quest and it is very good. I doubt I use it to its full abilities but it works very well for my purposes. The only downside is that the memory is a bit limiting, but not much so. When I went from Orlando to Asheville, NC, recently, I wasn't able to put as much on as I liked. It was still a ...

Re: Long Way Round - finally!
FWIW, I bought the UK version and it works well in my dvd player. No problems at all.

Re: r vs k
The GT is great with a very strong, smooth, linear power band. Its heavy, though and not the most flickable. The RT is a great bike. A bit more nimble than the GT. I did a trip in Austria in the Alps and the RT's aquitted themselves very well in the tight switchbacks with 2 up. Personally, I like th...

I would go with an R1200GS. The GS is every bit as good a tourer as the RT. The benefit, to those of us who live in warmer climates, is the fact that it does not have a significant fairing. The RT, 1200ST, Futura, ST3/ST4, Sprint RS, K1200GT, K1200S, FJR1300 feel very claustrophobic when its 80-100 ...

Saddlebags for K12R
How do the saddlebags for the K12R compare to the System Cases? They don't look like they're quite as robust as the system cases.
