Re: considering the R1200R
Well, the plan is to test ride a R1200R and a K1200R tomorrow. Saw the K12R recently and I really like the looks. Not necessarily what I may "need" but that is one cool looking bike. Interesting thing, though, called my insurance company and the quoted me almost double to insure the K12R v...

Re: Backrests
May want to contact them... http://www.sargentcycle.com/stealthrest.htm
They say on their site R1200R "coming Summer 08" http://www.sargentcycle.com/bmw.htm
Dunno is they'll just be selling the backrest but it might be worth a try contacting them.

Re: OK, I'm a "Chicken"
How serious is this problem? Trying to understand how "bad" it really is insofar as the numbers having the problem.
I'm currently looking at the R1200R.
Thanks.

Re: considering the R1200R
Thanks again everyone for the info. I did go to Chicago BMW and found the same "problem". If I didn't know the part number I had no way of checking prices.

Re: considering the R1200R
Well, had a chance to see the bike in person as well as sit on it. With the low seat, it's almost perfect. I really like the motorcycle. hmmm... thanks Dan-A. Don't know when I'll take it for a test ride, just going to sit on it today and see how I like the "fit" for my body.

Hey tobes.... another L.A. rider.
I'm checking out a black R1200R at BMW of Ventura tomorrow.
Good thing my FJR is in for service. No "temptation".
Thanks for the replies everyone.

considering the R1200R
Hello everyone. First post. I currently ride a 2006 FJR1300AE. I have 16,000 miles on her. I’ve been looking into the R1200R as a possible replacement. I have a general question for current owners: is there any type of “buzz†or vibration in the handlebars? I’ve read in som...
