Re: sw-motech rack doesn't fit with plate holder
I installed the rack and removed the license plate holder. The European bikes don't have the reflector holder combination so the rack isn't designed to fit with them. I also purchased a European tail light because it illuminates the plate from the bottom, the US tail lights are covered. Candidly I t...

Re: Factory Touring Windshield on Facelift Roadsters
I had it on my 2012 for a short while. I boxed it up and sent it back due to excess buffeting and noise. I have the Wunderlich Fairing and the protection is a bit less but the buffeting is non-existent when compared. Same here, far too much buffeting and noise from the factory touring screen. I now...

Re: Screens compared
Well after a long Winter today I was able to get out for a long ride and evaluate my new subject screen. I will say that for me the trophy screen is perfect solution for me. I'm am 5'9" (on a good day) and the wind hits me just below my helmet, and best of all the screen is quite unlike the BWM...

Re: Screens compared
Thanks for doing this, I know it takes time and effort but is very helpful. I also had the same experience as you, had the sport screen and it was nice up until about 60. I got the BMW touring screen and it offered great wind protection but the noise and rumbling from all of the 'dirty air' was terr...

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!
My relatively new R with Givi E21 luggage and the high screen. Used the high screen only once and for me at 5'9" it didn't work as well as I would have liked. Going to sell the high screen.

Re: Removing spark cover R1200 DOHC
It takes a strong pull to remove. I made a 'special tool' with a strong coat hanger end that hooks underneath the cover on the bottom to pull the cover off. I would recommend holding a cloth or something over the cover when you remove it so it doesn't fly off and get scuffed. Ask me how I know this....

Re: Winterizing Our R1200R's
I live in Chicago and all I do is fill the tank full of fresh fuel, wash the bike, put the bike on center stand and connect the trickle charger. The bike will easily store this way for 6 months. Some people add stabil or whatever, but honestly todays fuel doesn't go bad that quick.

Re: Givi E21 Luggage on R1200R
You can take the racks off in less than a minute with the quick release mounts leaving little evidence of the rack mounts. I always travel with luggage so it didn't matter to me what the racks looked like without bags. As far as stability, they seem very solid. The license plate mount seems very stu...

Re: Givi E21 Luggage on R1200R
Well I finally received my SW-Motech EVO racks and mounted my GIVI bags. IMHO they fit the bike well, nice quality racks. http://home.wideopenwest.com/~jdeneve/DSC_0458.jpg http://home.wideopenwest.com/~jdeneve/DSC_0451.jpg http://home.wideopenwest.com/~jdeneve/DSC_0453.jpg http://home.wideopenwest....

Givi E21 Luggage on R1200R
I a new owner of an R1200R and I am looking for luggage options. I know BMW has great OEM bags, but for me they are too large and I prefer smaller bags for touring. On my previous bike I used a set of Givi E21 bags and I have ordered racks from SW-Motech for the BMW to fit the E21 bags. Has anyone h...
