I had the same problem. The "floating" pads weren't floating - they should move back and forth on two pins at the front and back of the assembly. My mechanic installed the assembly and gently tapped back and forth (on the front pin in my case) while squirting lubricant into the pin assembl...

Need to connect a GPS to R1150R
I need to hard wire a GPS to my 2004 R1150R. I would like it to be a switched connection, and I hate to cut into a wiring bundle to connect (say, to the brake light wire).
