Re: What do you think of this deal on a used 2008 from a dealer?
The same optioned '09 can be had for $14.5k without any rebates, programs or haggling. With the a la carte option lists, you can order the bike you really want and may even save some $$$, two new colors as well... I think $11k would be the most I would pay but that is because there is $360 of unwant...

High quality material and workmanship, very waterproof, comfortable to walk in, great sole.

This bike was a dealer painted bike, not a BMW factory bike.

Re: new to beemers, now what?
Marinedad, I have a buddy that has a HD Road King or some other such, and he prefers to ride the HD just because of the low cg.
I think you'll get used to it, its just a jump technology-wise. Now you'll be riding 1920's technology.
My dad is a Marinedad as well, Semper Fi!

Re: What would you do?
I wouldn't go to Iraq. Hank. Worst advice ever. I would sell the bike now, it will never be worth as much as it is today. Every time I am away from home for an extended period, as soon as I get back I want a new vehicle be it bike or car. Tax-free, imminent danger pay, and not having to spend money...

Oh and the damage is on the right side not the left... brake lever is on the right correct? I'd better find out before my next ride

Re: Question of worth
Thanks for the advice. The dealer will throw in a used tank, color unknown, that is the only part that I think would run more than a few hundred bucks. Although a dozen parts at $85 is over $1000! The "pool" of bikes over here is dozens of HDs, some sport bikes very few BMWs. Maybe Militar...

Question of worth
Hello all. The local motorrad superstore here has an non-ABS R1150R (22,000 kms) that they bought off of another dealer that the selling dealer said had some scrapes. The scrapes turn out to be a heavily damaged tank, left cylinder cover, left pegs, left hand controls (brake lever sheared off) and b...

Re: 650 x-country to r1200r upgrade - need advice
Small world (but I wouldn't want to paint it). I have a XCountry, my first bike, and my dream bike is a R1200R. I have been riding for a little over a year and have about 6,000 miles under my belt 4,500 of that on the XC, the rest split between a K100RS and a R1150R. I borrowed a R1150R with low sea...

Help me find my R1200R
First of all some background- I am a service member stationed in Germany and have 2 BMWs an 07 XCountry and a 85 K100RS. I am completely enamored with the Roadster, and am nearing trigger-pulling time. I just have to either find a US bike at substantial savings (in the US) and have it shipped (~$100...

I have to pick up the fan for the brick today, I'll ask Niederslasung here in Stuttgart.

Check to see if they are adding the VAT or what customs duties are being applied. The VAT is 17%, but there are ways around that

Re: 1200R in White
As for the exhaust, I am guessing Akropovic (sp?) I will ask Uwe in K-town, the blue is long since sold.
I must apologize to the Wudo-wanters, at the Motorrad days there was a Wudo booth and I didn't stop to grab literature or take pics.
I can ship USPS if that will make up for it...

1200R in White
I was told by my Military Sales rep here in Germany that the RR would be available in white. I just happened to be at the BMW Motorrad days in Garmish and lo and behold http://moxnix.smugmug.com/gallery/4119422#325830900_L6rCk This is my next bike- off goes the XCountry and the K100. In an homage to...
