BBBPS...can you elaborate a bit more ???

Thanks.

Idle speed question

Just had my 12,000 mile service done at the local BMW place. I really can't remember the "before" but now the bike idles right at 1,000 rpms. This seems low and now I have to give it little gas to keep it running at start-up...but it idles OK when warmed up and runs fine. I'll check my non...

I know this concept isn't new but I'd like to see: 1. a regular R1200R, the only big change from the R1150R being the motor 2. an R1200R (HP version/equivalent of the car M versions) with 10-15 more horsepower (and an uncorked exhaust), upgraded parts were needed (and maybe some more for looks...lik...

Hi Ghostrider This one keeps coming up. Have a look at the "WOW - Nice Mirrors" thread on Jan 11th. I just fitted a pair of the chrome black cruiser mirrors (as in the photo) and I really like the expanded field of view, much better. Had some trouble getting the bushes (adaptor sleeves) a...

Look through the Great ride pics for Mike in the UK. http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=2822 His bike looks great with them...and I think they looks so much better than the K mirors...IMHO DJ http://r1150r.smugmug.com/photos/32227265-M.jpg Are these the correct part #s for these mirrors? 5...

Mark - 2 good options - Bob's BMW in Jessup MD will sell you the whole set of gear at a discount. Send them your key and the bags will come back keyed for you. Go to their website and download the pdf catalog luggage pages. Or, call Chicago BMW - 20% off, I think a bit cheaper than Bob's, but you m...

Just wondering, have I overlooked the BMW 650s? They never appealed to me very much...but I haven't riden one so I don't have a basis to say up or down. Comments from those who have the F-Series would be welcome. Thanks. Winter time report: It was 65 degrees here yesterday...and the wind had to blow...

Staintune make an exhaust lowering kit for their exhaust that fits our bike so you can use a full size left case. Do you still have the cat in place?...if you do..you could do what I've done. http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic1710.JPG http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic1720.JPG As fo...

I think you should give the inner bags a miss and get the little rack that goes between the two case mounting rails..I think the rack finishes it off nicely. You can buy some cheap bags that will fit inside the cases for a few dollers..the BMW ones are very expensive. Also have you considered getti...

System case required parts question

I've decided to add the hard bags to my R1150R. Here as best I can determine are the required parts...what am I missing? Then you need a dealer to get the lock set? And they can be keyed to your bike key...correct? Are the "inner bags" worth the $$$ ? Seems like they would be but I'd like ...

Good point about the old Duke II...I was very tempted to buy one when they still "new"...green was my favorite one. I suspect good used ones are a rare find. Your Duke looks great. What brand of exhaust pipe is that? The Suzuki isn't on my radar...it might be if they come with a 450cc engi...

SuperMoto bikes...opinions sought

Staring at the dead of winter, its nice to think about spring and the possibility of buying a bike to sit along side the R1150R...one that would be fun to ride, not cost north of $10,000, and one that would compliment the BMW rather than overlap its strong points. To wit, I keep thinking that a Husk...

I purchased the following Gerbing items earlier this year: gloves (classic), comfort socks, jacket liner, and pants liner. I would rate the whole package a grade B (Gerbing is the only brand I've tried). In particular, the gloves, although very warm and comfortable, seem too bulkly. I suppose given ...

Another helmet question --- Arai this time

I tried on the Astral-X model yesterday...the person working the counter told me that the Large & XL have the same shell size with the liner thickness making the size difference. The Arai brochure I downloaded on the specs doesn't list the Astral series in the chart with optional liner thickness...

I'm no expert but I put them in the middle of the range of helmets out there. Also the make a big range from cheap and crappy to pretty good. I don't think they're renowned for being very quiet..but the venting seems ok. Which model are you looking at...is it the graphics that attract you to them? ...

I currently have Shoei Z-II...its the only helmet I've had since I really started street riding on a full time basis (I rode a little in the mid '90s but not enough to "count"...it was dirt riding back then). Without a baseline, I couldn't give this Shoei higher than a grade B...comfort an...

Opinions sought on AGV helmets

I'm thinking about maybe buying another helmet for next year...for some reason, the AGV helmets really appeal to me.

Your thoughts regarding their comfort/noise/model preference/etc. would be welcome.

Thanks.
