Tool Tube

After relocating canister under the tank I thought that space might be good for something else. I picked this canister up at a yard sale and thought it would be a good tool tube. It fits nicely behind the bag. Bracket is something I had laying around. Lid is held in place by 2 external hitch pins (o...

Clutch Bleed - Static Play in Lever

Yearly maintenance - including checking and lubing splines. So while everything is apart is decide to replace the clutch fluid. It's looks clean as I drain off the master, being careful not to expose the holes. Fill master with new DOT 4. Then I Mityvac out the rest out of the bleeder in the back. S...

I was told he now works at http://www.bigboyztoysny.com/ I sent a msg thru there site on Saturday and as of tonite I've not yet got a response. Try giving him a call there and he can explain. Who knows, maybe you could get a group...

Re: HID/Xenon Headlamp Conversion - anyone have these?

Rick,
I will get any info I can on this part and post it. I'm not sure if it's an item found in other
NAPA stores or not. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Re: HID/Xenon Headlamp Conversion - anyone have these?

I installed an HID upgrade last July and it has been reliable and I now own the night :D I purchased from the local NAPA guy who was a bike guy. It cost $55 and when I got it it had no brand labeling. I hadn't really explored all the HID options out there before buying this unit so I don't know much...

Re: Beakster Bash VIII - May 12-14, 2011 - Milford, Pa

Like those before me I am going to make every effort to make it. I am about an hour away and have some routes thru the Catskills. There ares some covered bridges out that way and we all need good backgrounds for the pictures we use to prove where we were. Besides - I have never seen more than one R ...

Re: Clutch Spline Grease.... .ok.. here goes..

I have just finished lubing my splines and bike is currently being re-assembled. Beemerboneyard has a moly paste with 75% moly vs the beloved Honda moly 60. I used it and it is 'firmer' and tackier than the 60. I have 20k on my new trans input shaft and it is just beginning to show signs of the alig...

Re: Clutch spline lube (crosspost)

Al was a big help with tips in my process - Hey Al - I have my old parts if he can't get his. I used the the old shaft as a clutch alignment tool. I believe I had some trouble down shifting but the difficulty is hard to define so all I really remember is that it did not feel quite right. I'd have to...

Re: Clutch spline lube (crosspost)

I am in the process of putting my 02 back together after having spline issues. It has 43k on it and I thought it might be wise to check it. I removed the trans-swingarm-wheel as one unit. It's best to have some help with this. Unfortunately my splines looked like this. So I had to remove the trans a...

Dremel tool with a narrow wire cleaning brush on it. Leave the battery connected and the fuse in and see if you're as good as you ever were playing 'Operation'.

Thanks, I have to get one of those. I wish I wrote down everythiing I did last year. I too went through that little ball bearing hell. I did a one for one swap with the picture. Picture is a 'before' picture. If you're saying that there is an update to this then I will look into it. A part number would be good. I believe when I ordered the cables they sent me the old part number. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c315/nexstar/Pictu...

I got my R in Spring of '05. It is a 2002 model with 19k on it. Throttle was stiff from the beginning and I thought I had to live with it. So stiff in fact that on day trip of about 300 miles my forearm would be totally cramped. Anyhow, I tried a different bike and it was much easier. I decided to c...

Quick - get out of Canada right now - it's dangerous, what with all this stampeding, ramping and construction.
I'm just jealous about the St John's thing. :D I'm determined to make that my next big trip - maybe next year.
Post a report with some pics along the way
Good Luck
