Re: The Frog riders know how to protest!

Hey I have French blood but they are frog eaters, I'm not ;) Bet they would really protest if someone tested nukes on an island near France (like they did in the South Pacific near us), or commited and act of terrorism by sinking a peace vessel ("Rainbow Warrior" in Auckland harbour) in on...

Re: Question for Naked Rider

Thankyou for taking the time to write such an informed reply mate, So yep as I thought it would be a great 2nd bike but expensive to obtain and in need of tank/seat mods, and possibly a Race Tech G2R front fork respring/valve if they are sprung up front like I think they might be. The local roads in...

Question for Naked Rider

Hi NR., I've been looking at buying a Megamoto lately and while there are some new and used available here, none are in my area to test ride. Having owned both yourself mate, I wonder if you can tell me what they ride like? I like the look and concept of the bike but wonder if there is much differen...

Hey Talon,

You should send ChiTown around to your place with the keys. He can have it broke in for ya when you get back. Might need a wash though.

Re: Things are different on a Harley

Nice bike Dale and hope you enjoy it mate. I sometimes think of getting another HD mainly for the comfort factor. (cronic tendonitis to both elbows) but as a 2nd bike. I like the R12R more now than when I bought it(over 2 years now...the longest I've kept a bike for so maybe I'm cured of my sickness...

Re: Gear Box/Transmission Oil Change

Been changing both @ 20000klm = 12500mls intervals, with Redline Shockproof Heavy in the trans. Was using Redline 75/90 in the FD but I actually found the mythical Castrol SAF-XO at a nearby oil depot. They supply the local BM dealer with lubes and it is also labelled suitable for MAN transmissions....

Re: A matter of the utmost importance...

While waiting for the red light to change, when I took a test ride on a silver R1200R a bus driver next to me leaned out the window saying "now that's what a bike should look like" & "what is it?"
This has never happened to me on my black bike :?

Hi Tobes

sorry to see the mess on your pipe, I have had good luck with oven cleaner and a scotchbrite pad for boot marks etc in the past. Might be worth a try.

Re: SERVICE indicator on battery disconnect

Hi Crazy

the service light has always come up when I've disconected the battery. Annoying at first but after a while I don't notice it there.

Hi Don

Yes the modified car mob like the lightweight and high output. Deka are suppliers of Harley's original equipment batteries and are proven to be of good quality by the HD crowd, many running high compression motors.

Direct fit battery

Hi All With all the recent battery posting of late I was prompted to replace my slow cranking stock Exide. This battery was installed when original failed 2 weeks after delivery and that was 22 months ago. I decided to use a Deka ETX14 and it's dimentions are almost the same as the stock battery, gi...

Re: Has anyone tried the Laser exhaust?

I have the Ti Laser Hot Cam on for 18 months. Sound is ok (baffle out) for what I need, I have Remus headers which I had silver ceramic coated at the time of install. The ceramic is just starting to pit from front wheel debri, but still looks better than the brown would. If that black pipe was avail...

Re: Just added Remus and PC Whooopeee!

Slip on or full system, even with a filter change requires no other changes or fuel add ons, and are safe to run. The ECU infact cannot be re mapped. Fuel management from here on is optional but not essential. These include Rapid Bike, Techlusion/Wunderlich, or Power Commander 3. Raid Bike and PC3 n...

Re: Just added Remus and PC Whooopeee!

celticus, I got them off a guy in Aussie, he did a lot of testing and found 9 deg advance works well on these Beemers. You need a fuel adding device too and I'm using a techlusion I got from Custom Dynamics, who have great service and pricing. I won't comment too much on the sprockets because I have...

Re: Just added Remus and PC Whooopeee!

Anyone who says Remus and more fuel isn't worth it hasn't ridden an "R" with it IMO. I also put some cam sprockets on mine which gave 9deg advance and the bike pulls from nice with no flat spot at 4-5000 rpm. Infact it feels stronger everywhere. I doubt there is more hp but it's fun to rid...
