Re: Awful transmission noise
I am getting the same awful transmission noise and it is not rideable. It will give power to the wheel, but it is weak. My came about after I removed my tank and put it back. I did at first not reattach my fuel line properly and the engine was running funny so I turned it off attached it correctly,...

Re: Ohlins suspension
So I took a better look at those shocks and compared spring numbers with Ohlins data. It appears those springs are standard for Rockster. Any way I could figure out if the actual shocks are for Rockster? What would be the effect of putting Rockster shocks on Roadster? I read somewhere that both fron...

Ohlins suspension
My 2004 RR came with Ohlins front and back. PO didn't have any paperwork about the shocks. Riding the bike, I found it very unsettled, front end bouncing on uneven surfaces in corners and scaring the daylight out of me couple of times. The rear preload was on minimum. I got the number from the front...

Re: Awful transmission noise
Okay gents, here is the update...I have the sweetest running RR north of the border (maybe even further south, but I won't make those claims). The problem was the right throttle cable was too tight and never fully closed the right fuel valve. The last sync was performed by BMW. This is how I got the...

Re: Awful transmission noise
A one cylinder cyclic idle alone will cause the running clearances between the primary drive gears, meshing transmission gears and input shaft splines to all contribute to making the noises you hear. You are bang on as usual cycleRob. I did adjust BBSs by ear and the noise is gone. Also managed to ...

Re: 2004 R1150R Power Commander
It is PCIII / USB and yes it does have wide band O2 sensor. And throttle stops haven't been altered, still blue paint on the screws.

Re: Awful transmission noise
I haven't tried since I put it away yesterday afternoon, but it did before, no issues. However it was a slow ride home, stuck in traffic for an hour, stop and go, and it was warmish out.peels wrote:will it move under its own power?

Awful transmission noise
So I have a 2004 R1150R with 39000 miles on it. Throttle bodies are way out of sync so I'm dealing with that issue. However, I started it last night and it made this awful noise that seems to be coming from transmission. It is clicking and whirring noise that goes away when clutch pulled in. If I pl...

Re: 2004 R1150R Power Commander
So I built my own vacuum gauge, 4 feet tall, like the one cycleRob described and tried the sync the other night. The left cylinder pulls waaaay to much vacuum compared to right, sync was completely impossible. I managed to lower idle to 1300 rpm but the BBSs are almost completely closed. Seems like ...

Re: 2004 R1150R Power Commander
Hey CycleRob, Thanks for the reply. I don't think PO messed with the bike, blue paint is still on TPS screw. I actually think BMW (who serviced the bike last) messed up the sync, there is clicking from left throttle body which I think might be throttle valve slap, cable too tight. I added some slack...

2004 R1150R Power Commander
Hello, I am a new member and this is my first post on the board. Last week I bought 2004 R1150R with 38000 miles. PO installed Power Commander on the bike, his explanation was to smooth out and crisp up power delivery. The first thing I noticed is that the bike idled too high, 1400 - 1500 rpm when h...
