I ride with the pads of my palms just resting across the tops of the grips. Hi there and welcome!
If you fuel up with low octane fuel, you will hear a nasty high-pitched sound at 5-6000 revs when you crack the throttle open.
Try looking up the word "pinging" in this forum. It will make things a lot clearer I think...
