Saint Mike's Grad here! Enjoyed great fall riding on some of the best roads in the northeast back in the day! Ride the Notch road sometime in late September. It is spectacular, but even my St. Alban's brother puts his K100 away in the winter.

How much did you get for the trade in?

I've gotten a consistent 48 miles per gallon in mixed riding. A straight highway ride to the Adirondacks last month and my light wasn't even coming on until 200 miles. Your mileage seems way under where it should be. Just an observation, no solution.

Thank you to all for your input. I rode about 150 miles this past weekend and I did not experience any stalling at all. I do believe my battery is shot, but I'm not certain it is related in any way. I bought a 2003 R1150R with 12,000 miles, BMW side bags, Givi top bag and aftermarket windshield for $7000 in May, 07. I've put on about 1000 miles and have found this to be the sweetest machine I have ever known. I agree that the bike is barely broken in at 12K. Great bike all around. :
