Rivi, great choice! Moved over to the R12GS about a year ago and have never looked back! If you ever get the chance to get away, the BMW Off- Road Training at Hechlingen, Germany is a fantastic way to spend 3 days getting acquainted with the GS!! :D Tiring, but loads of fun! I picked up the K1200R a...

DJ, would you happen to know if the ones available to you are the ones also sold at boxer-design.com? See below:

Would really like to get a bellypan for my KR but the CF ones just seem a little too expensive.

I had it advertised with numerous sources in the Seattle area for about a month. Only received insults... I finally managed to trade for a bike that is more to my liking... It's a shame, but did you have a particularly bad experience with the bike to make you want to move on? I would imagine the Pa...

<bimmer82is> what year is your RR? I was told it was quite straightforward on the earlier models but I found that it was impossible to mount the flyscreen bracket on my '04 RR according to the instructions. There just wasn't enough leeway/space to have the bolts aligned properly to screw in. I had t...

David, let me be the first to say that it'll be a sad day for (almost) all of us here should you decide to take your leave from this board. It's been, and probably still is to a certain extent, the best bike-specific forum around that caters to each and everyone of us who have had the great fortune ...

Hey DJ, thanks for the pics and links. Is it me or does the left bar look longer in the pic of the BoxerCup K12R? The MV risers look good and will do away with the need to mess with the triple clamp but I'm not sure if I want to muck around with the cables. Anyhow, riding in to work today, everythin...

Gotcha. I think the reference to the ergos of a GS are a little exaggerated but I get what they're trying to imply. I don't think the superbike bars will get you full GS-like, sit-up-and-beg ergos but it looks like it'll be enough to put you above any wind protection the sports screen will afford yo...

Superbike bars on the K1200R
I was wondering if anyone's thought about swapping out the original K12R bars for superbike bars? AC Schnitzer has a complete kit for this and got me wondering if this would improve the ergos and handling of the bike. A penny for your thoughts? http://www.boxer-design.de/en/SuperlenkerK1200Ree.htm

Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do.... :D DJ, the plan when I got the K12R actually meant parting with the R12GS too soon after. But I've gone two-up with SWMBO on both bikes and 'nuff said, the GS stays!! (2-up riding on the K12R was a topic of much discussion but I won't go there, suff...

I think the Boxer engines are a breed unto themselves, and as they've evolutionized themselves through the years from the old airheads to the current hexheads, they've carried with them a distinct personality/character trait that we've all grown accustomed to and have come to love in our RRs and the...
