Re: R1200R Tires - Pirelli Scorpion Sync DIY
Are the Conti Attacks soft compound? If so that explains that. They are soft, like the Scorpion's, especially compared to Z6's. Both are much lighter also... There are so many factors in milage like people have said. The biggest one is the driver IMO. For me I know I get the mileage I do because I ...

I use a Helen2Wheels tent back mounted to the forks on some of my trips. I do like it there, it looks like it balances the bike to me. ( not having a huge pile of crap strapped to the tail..) I use a little gaffer's tape to protect the forks and fender when I do. Couldn't find a tent on Helen's sit...

Guys, what are these factors that affect tyre life? I run 36F 40R tyre pressures, weigh 100kg (220lb) and ride quite hard, although not as hard as Chitown (Footpegs but not valve covers!). I got 4216km out of a rear Conti Attack - that's less than 2,600 miles. I've got about the same on the replacem...

Thanks Joe. I once spent a lot of time, and all the swear words I know, trying to bleed the rear brake on my Aprilia Tuono using the push pedal down - twist bleed nipple, push bleed push bleed system. Then I took it to a mate who owns a car workshop. He hooked the caliper nipple up to a vacuum feed ...

Nice pix Salub, thanks. I heard a Staintune muffler (without dB killer) on the standard downpipes/cat, and it sounded little different from the standard muffler. I think the cat does considerable muffling in itself. How does it sound with a full system? Loud? Mellow? Angry? On a related matter, have...

I've now fitted an Ilmberger hugger to keep crud off my new shock. It looks very pretty, but I must admit to being somewhat chagrined when I was on a ride with some mates last weekend. I saw the owner of a KTM Superduke had solved the same problem on his bike with a rectangle of heavy duty inner tub...

I don't have a problem with one system or the other--it's the going between the two. For example, after riding the Honda for a few days, I'll get on the BMW and do some stupid stuff for the first few turns. And vice-versa. Maybe it's just me, but I'd think there's some basic human-factors issue at ...

A fellow I know rewired the BMW switches as such: The the right directional becomes cancel, left directional becomes horn, right side cancel becomes right directional , left horn becomes left directional. Think about it this arrangment makes perfect sense. It makes better sense than the std set up,...
