Re: Booster Plug

On the bad side, and this shows it's definitely putting in more fuel.. I was averaging 46-47 MPG on my last few tanks. Just riding around for 10 miles with the booster plug in, and my MPG shows as 38! I've never seen it in the 30s before. It's dropping so fast that I don't think it has bottomed out...

For me also, and mirrors are in a much better position.

Re: Tripometer discrepancy

I've confirmed over the last two fill-ups that there is indeed a difference. Yesterday my odometer flipped over to 1124 as I pulled away from the pump. Last time it was 1021, which means I put at most 103 miles on the bike. I'd reset both Trips and at this point each read 107.4.

Tripometer discrepancy

I've done a quick search and haven't found this mentioned yet. Has anyone noticed a discrepancy between the tripometer and odometer? I've been keeping a record of the odometer and tripometer at fill-ups, resetting the tripometer each time. The other day I noticed that the difference between odometer...

Re: CeeBaileys "Sport Shield" any one try one yet?

My (clear) CB Sport Shield arrived last week and I've ridden with it for about 4 days now. Installation was trivial since the stock mounting bracket was already on: just take BMW sport shield off and install the CB. The mounting holes on the shield seemed a bit off so one screw did not go in flush, ...

Re: Considering the R1200R. A few Questions

For Sure LEG LENGTH counts more than height. I am 5' 10" but cursed with a 28" inseam. Factory Short seat gets me to the ball of both feet...good enough for 40 years of riding with only one tip over (foot slid on a big puddle of tranny fluid at a light). Sounds like we have another thing ...

Re: Gnu Member

I too thought the "herky jerky" at low speeds was me being too green. It is, you'll get used to it and learn to adapt in no time. Booster plug is overrated. Spend less on unnecessary farkles and more on gas and tires ;) +1 You have to learn to trust the engine. It has enough torque that i...

GNU --- G NU is N ot U nix. Are you a Linux fan by chance? Heh, not exactly. I did run it for a while mid-90's but became annoyed with it when they were transitioning from a.out to ELF binaries. I switched to FreeBSD and stayed with that for a long time, until I got my Mac laptop with OS X. Otherwi...

r1200rclassic: heh, my choice was partly spontaneous. I didn't like the look of the classic at first but it grew on me very quickly. It really is more "me". kaSysy: You are so right; I've already spent so much on gear, but I'm pretty much set now. Well, except saddle bags. GF wants us to g...

ammolab: thank you for the link to the windshield thread. I think I've read it and many others. I want to try a CeeBaileys. I forgot to sign something so rode down to the dealer tonight: 30 minutes at 65-70mph. Saturday he took the bracket and windshield off but held onto them for me so we could pic...

Re: CeeBaileys "Sport Shield" any one try one yet?

Ok, I'm willing to give the CeeBailey Sport a try. I have several questions about the whole subject but will post them in another thread.

I know that we won't be looking through it, so is the dark or light gray tinting strictly for aesthetics?

Hello my name is David, a transplanted Canuck, and I'm a farkaholic. 8-[ It's been 7 hours since my last purchase: a Kriega 20L Drypack and better gloves. In my first post I want to thank you all for the valuable information that helped me buy a new '11 Classic this Saturday. I'm as excited as a fri...
