Re: The View From Here

Hey Mike, sorry I did not see your post sooner. Are you still in this neck of the woods? If so send me a note, we are not too far from Geneva. Great riding weather right now, my 2011 R12R is at your disposal, and I can point you to some very nice, smooth, sweeping mountain back roads! The ones witho...

Re: Potential problem

Don & Harald, Thanks for the suggestions guys. Actually that is not rust in the left drain port, I had a very good look at it and it looks more like some type of sealer or glue used around the drain pipe attachment, whatever it is, it is not rust! The drain/vent pipes look like a brass or bronze...

Re: Advice for a week in the Alps

Hi guys, These particular cable cars run all summer long since this area is not a ski resort, more of a walking/hicking/climbing area, as well as motorcycling and paragliding of course! A couple of views from the cable car to get you inspired! Have a great trip, and do drop me a note if you are pass...

Re: Potential problem

Don. Thanks for the tip on attaching Photos... with a little help it becomes piece of cake! Here is the image of the unpainted filler neck area on my 2011 model...Galvanized? Should I paint it or leave it as it is? Thanks again. Bob. http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee498/BobJMorrison/BMW%20R1200...

Re: Potential problem

Hi Guys. Heads-up for 2011 R1200R model owners. While installing the recommended gasket last week I notice that my 2011 model fuel tank DOES NOT have any of the red/glossy rust protection paint on the inner surface of the tank filler port, as shown on previous posts. It is unpainted plain old galvan...

Re: Advice for a week in the Alps

Hi Julian, You are in for a real treat of a ride! We have been living in Switzerland for a couple of years now and have recently taken delivery of a new R12R. Bedford is also a well known to me from my Cranfield (College of Aeronautics) days many moons ago! In fact I had a good friend there at the t...

Re: Why BMW?

Hi Folks! First post from a new member to this forum and yet another test ride victim! My story is similar to many of you…I am now 52 and have owned some form of motorized two-wheeler since the age of 15. My last “real” motorcycle was a 1977 Ducati 900GTS, a classic black and chrome beauty. I loved ...
