Re: Wheel Flange recall
I just got informed of this difference in design on another board - that the 1150's have a steel gear assembly that the wheel mounts directly to - so I guess I'm back to square one in trying to find the culprit. After having the wheel come loose on me twice, I can't ride the thing with any confidenc...

Re: Wheel Flange recall
Any info on whether BMW has covered the replacement of these flanges on the 1150r's? My back wheel has come loose on me twice now and I have no doubt there is a component failure in there, but the lists I have seen don't include that particular model as being included in the recall. If it's also mad...

Re: which windscreen is this?
Sure wish I could find the finishing washers for that screen. One of them came off my bike and I can't find replacements anywhere. Anybody know who sells them? I tried the BMW dealer in Raleigh and they couldn't help.

Re: New Member from Hotlanta
Welcome Aboard Rafael, How about some more details on the deal you got? I got a 2004 r1150r about 18 months ago from a couple that had just moved to Florida from California. I got the bike for $5,000. It had 6,800 miles on it at the time. It had the side cases but no windscreen, so I've replaced tha...

Re: Greetings From New Member
Hey Wayne, I saved your phone number on my phone. My plan is to leave for my trip on Tuesday. I have several stops first, but don't be surprised if you get a call from me in a couple of weeks, when I'm visiting my friends up in Farmville. Maybe we can meet up and do a ride... Thanks, Ben - Area code...

Re: Warm Weather Riding Jacket
It's been up around 95F/35C the past few days. 80% humidity. Brutal. Leather is dangerous in these conditions. The only up side is I can ride pretty much year round. Just curious, what makes leather dangerous in those conditions? I'm in the SE too and going to be taking a tour next week. Not sure w...

Re: Pilot Road 2 installation question
What's the recommended PSI (front and rear) for The Pilot Road 2's on a r1150r? I'm getting ready for a road trip (solo) and will have two side cases and a top case, luggage-wise. Thanks!

Re: 2004 R1150R (looking for a few things)
I bought a 45L Givi top case in Rome 15 months ago. Got it for 90 Euros, which was about $135 at the time. A 33L BMW top case would've cost me $325. I took a chance and made it my carry on luggage for the flight back (got some weird comments about it) - it would only fit in the business class overhe...

Re: ? for BMW/Ztecknic Touring/Sport screen users
I have found it to be ridiculously easy to go back and forth between the BMW fly screen (almost naked riding) and the Parabellum SuperTour (80% decrease in wind noise and buffeting). It's like a five minute 'swap'. It is possible because I can just leave the fly screen on, and I don't have to remov...

Thanks Buckster, I went to that mechanical section you mentioned but there's not much there, only three links. Do I have to be a member to access the links pertaining to maintenance, or am I missing something? I'm not finding it. Thanks. By the way, the oil, filter and tires should be here tomorrow.

Is that the accessory/power outlet? Mine's not equipped with that option, just the cover/plug where it would normally be. Thanks.

Re: How to hook up a battery tender jr
Can I get a little clarification here? There must be an easier way that I'm not aware of. I've been removing the seat and getting the little clamps from my Black and Decker trickle charger up underneath the gas tank, to the battery terminals themselves. It's tedious as hell to get them to bite on th...

Re: Pilot Road 2 installation question
Are you happy with these tires? I ordered a pair of them (should be here Friday) and need to get them installed. The cycle shop near here charges $45 per wheel to put them on. I've never done it before and don't have the tools. How hard is it to remove the wheels. if I take in just the wheels it's $...
