Re: BMW Supplemental Brake Light
Don't have time to take a pic right now, but if you have one, it should be located on the left side of the bike, just below the seat and plastic body panels and up near the front of the seat, just tothe rear and above the throttle body if that makes any sense.

Re: BMW Supplemental Brake Light
I'm not super technical, but lets see if I can help.... The harness has an end with one plug, and at the other end has a "branch" of two different types of plugs about 1 foot of wire going to each (one of these is just a spade-type plug). The single end goes in between the supply and worki...

Re: PLEASE forgive me-GPS question
I don't typically do this, but I am pointing you in the direction of something that I have little information about, and no direct experience. I just happened to be on the Tourtech site this morning looking around. On that site they have a center mounted universal GPS mount and a universal BMW CAN-b...

Re: Off Topic, but because i talk to you guys its here
My sincere condolences. From reading that story your friend was a really great person, so sorry to hear. As for the bike, we all rationalize this in our own way. There are just too many variables in each persons life to take into consideration. From time to time after hearing a story like this one, ...

Re: BMW Supplemental Brake Light
Two other things....I did not have to modify the harness or wiring as some have, but the wiring is pretty short to the brake light and it may have been a better install if I had, not sure. It just barely fit. Also I wonder about wet weather longevity since it hangs pretty much unprotected. I live in...

Re: BMW Supplemental Brake Light
Installed this recently as I needed help in the other thread referenced. Yes I have mine attached with the license plate. Install wasn't too bad with the exception that I connected it to the wrong wire on the tail light. I ended up taking off damn near every piece from the power plug to the tail lig...

Re: The Yellow Headlight
That cover is pretty sweet. Two questions, how easy is it to remove and reinstall (I have a fairing that goes around the headlight and that may make it much more difficult) and how would I get one? Is there an online store? (ok maybe three questions...)

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!
nylife - I remember seeing that bike for sale on the internet from a shop in Arizona. I really wanted to buy it but the timing was a bit off. Interesting to see that they would rent it. Anyway, it looked like a sweet ride, so much so that when the timing was right, I ended up with something eerily s...

Re: Help with Supplemental LED Brake Light
OK mystery solved. Found an old post where it was mentioned the brown is always ground. Good words to live by. Took a little fiddling with the clip for the brake wire and viola! We have power baby! Thanks to Don Eilenberger for those words of wisdom. Thanks Don, you helped and didn't even know it. T...

Help with Supplemental LED Brake Light
I started to ask this question in an older post, but I thought this might warrant a new topic. PLease excuse any double posting..... I am trying to install the BMW Supplemental Brake Light. I have the CAN-bus version and the "B" Harness that seems to be the correct harness from other posts...

I went last night too. Checked out the new beamer scoots (among other things). Certainly not for everyone but I liked them.

Thanks for the replies...if it doesn't affect the Canbus I'm more likely to give it a shot. Hopefully if I get in a pinch, you guys can help bail me out....

Re: Fender Extender and LED Taillight
Forgive me for opening up a long lost topic, but hey at least I used the search function first.... I would like to add this sipplemental brake light to my 2009 R12R, the dealer says it takes some work to wire it in and the also needs to be programmed into the CANbus or there will be an error light a...

Re: Got a 1600GTL as a loaner
Took a test drive as well. Agree that it feels like a luxury cruiser in comparison and also agree that I won't be trading up anytime soon. Until I rode this bike I didn't realize how much I actually liked a bit of vibration. The 1600 engine is soooo smooth that it actually kind of unnerving. It give...

Re: Trusted the computer: RAN OUT OF GAS!!!!
OK I did learn the hard way. I thought the Germans could possibly figure out that simple piece of intrumentation, and it _seemed_ to be operating correctly at the time....that being said, why is it so hard to build a reliable gas guage in an MC? Every car I've ever had the gauge works fine, every MC...

Re: Trusted the computer: RAN OUT OF GAS!!!!
I am amazed how many knuckleheads run out of gas and post it on here. As someone replied on this subject on a different thread, the motorcycle did not run out of gas. The rider did. Even the owner manual says not to trust the computer. I am amazed at how many perfect riders there are on this site t...

Re: Why is there only one swingarm pivot cap?
Maybe I'll try that Velcro idea, seems simple enough. I ordered a Hornig cap from A&S a looong time ago and I doubt it will ever show up. Thinking I will cancel and try something else.
