Re: 2004 Rockster won't start - I'm at a loss!
I thought of this actually... I had them marked with tape to differentiate one from the other but it is a possibility I guess. I'll give it a try tomorrow and see if it fixes the problem. And if it does I'll feel like a total moron. But I guess I would be ok with that if it meant I could get out the...

2004 Rockster won't start - I'm at a loss!
Let me start by saying I've searched online and watched videos trying to trouble shoot this problem with no suggestions that worked for me. I'm posting this as a last resort because I don't know what to try next. Anyways... My 2004 Rockster has about 38k miles (that's low to me...) and it sat last w...

A guy I used to work with has some Dunlop 616's on his R1100 and he really likes them. My rear Dunlop RoadSmart II is developing a flat spot, either from too much acceloration or the boring roads I travel on, so I may switch to the 616 in the near future.

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Well, I have the BMW windscreen on my bike which provably helps the aerodynamics a bit, compared to stock, anyways. The only "mods" I've done that might effect fuel consumption is installing a K&N air filter. And I'm not comparing the mileage I'm getting on this bike to the ones I've p...

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Even when I consistently keep it under 4k RPM on a full tank I still only get 135 miles out of it before the light comes on.

Re: MPG - A total let down!
I forgot to post my results after my 250+ mile ride... Woops! Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with my results. The way to my destination I stayed at a pretty steady highway speed of 65-70MPH. I filled up right before I began heading home, and found out I was only getting 38.56MPG (if I...

Re: Shooting my new Pistol
Congrats on being a new gun owner! Walther makes good little plinking pistols. I only skimmed your first post so I'm sure some things I'm about to say may have been already mentioned... I've been shooting handguns, long rifles, shotguns, and carbines for around 6+ years now. I currently own 12 diffe...

Dreamweaver: I agree with NoRRmad, you should search before trying to highjack someone's thread. [-X Back on topic, I will finally be getting to take a bit of a ride this Sunday. It'll be about 280 miles there and back so I'll get to see what kind of highway mileage I'm getting. I will have my side ...

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Hi there! Before the trip I was also keeping records of urban petrol usage just riding solo with no luggage and was getting 145 - 150 miles to a tank before the fuel light came on. This works out to be around 33MPG. However I was not taking it above 4k on the rev counter as there is no need in urba...

Re: Paint blistering on rocker covers
The blistering has only occurred on my cylinder head covers so far. I hope everywhere else on the bike stays intact. Once I can afford to I will probably pull the covers and have them repainted.

Hasn't made the whirling sound again (and hopefully it wont)... I've been keeping it on the tender at night.
Now if I only knew why my mileage still sucked!

Re: Replacement tires for Rockster
I like my Dunlop Road Smart T2's. Have put about 4k miles on them so far and can't even see any wear so far. But the amount of use you get out of your tire also depends on the kind of riding you do.

Re: MPG - A total let down!
You need a manometer to set TB, no matter how good your hearing and 6th sense is. Agree with Riceburner, it is easy to construct--lots of pictures around. The biggest "controversy" is what to fill the manometer with. I use ATF--it's red and thicker than water, not as thick as oil--works w...

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Man! With the way gas prices are going, it looks like I'm SOL. I have a friend who works for Chevron and he said it wouldn't be a surprise to him if gas is $6 a gallon by October! ...Does BMW make a scooter yet? And this may be a bit off topic, but I'll ask anyways. When I've filled u...

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Winter gas may be the culprit (ethanol added). See if you notice a change in gas usage as the last of the winter mix is pumped out of fuel storage at your local gas stations. During the summer months, my fuel light comes on at around 145-153 on the tripmeter. During the cold months, it will come on...

Re: MPG - A total let down!
No, I have not. Last month I put a new K&N air filter in and checked my QD fuel lines to make sure all the clamps were nice and tight and no gas was leaking. Even with the K&N filter I didn't notice any better MPG, just a little better responseiveness. I synched my throttle bodies about 1k m...

Re: DDM Tuning H1 HID Dual Upgrade Kit
Well I couldn't really find a dark road to safely take these pictures on last night... So the high beam pics don't really do this light kit any justice. I just took two shinning out in a field, and two pointed out of the gate towards the road. If the high beam pics look blurry it's because it was st...
