Re: Low RPM surge

I have put all 5000 miles on the bike but didn't really notice it until riding 5-10 mph at the MOA Rally. Thanks

Low RPM surge

I am noticing a surge and uneven throttle response at low RPM and speed (like put putting around the rally grounds) on my R12R. It runs great at speed and in the twisties. Its a 2010 with just over 5000 miles. Could this be a valve/TB sync issue or is it part of the "character" of the bike.

Re: BMWMOA National Bloomsburg,Pa

I rode up last Sunday from Jacksonville, FL completing the Bloomsburg 1000 on my R12R. It sure is hot at the Rally even for a South Florida guy. Luckily I am also enjoying the comfort of the Bloomsburg University Apartments.

Re: New 2011 R1200R...Impressions.

I have tried several tall, short and the sport screen and can't get rid of the buffeting and noise. I have also used the tilt back mod. No windscreen with a Schuberth C3 has the smoothest and most quiet ride.

Departing soon

I have given my 2010 R1200R a good year of test riding, modifications and accessorizing but it still doesn't suit me well. I am returning to the touring world either to an RT or new K16GT. I have listed her on eBay and hope to find her a good new home. For those interested please go to ebay item 280...

Re: 2011 R1200R Classic: 2 cents after a 2-mile ride

On my 2010 R1200R the signals will self-cancel after about 1/4 of a mile or about 5 seconds at freeway speed

Solved the windscreen dilemma

I finally got rid of the noise and turbulence on my R1200R! Bought a Schuberth C3 helmet and I found that the best windscreen is NO WINDSCREEN AT ALL! This works for me since the majority of my rides are in warm weather (South Florida). This of course may not apply to those of you who ride in more f...

Re: Helmet options for the naked riders

My HJC Symax is fine when I had a functioning windscreen like on my prior RT. Now that I have decided to go without any windscreen at all on the R, the noise isn't too bad but the instability of the helmet is. I am thinking of trying the Schuberth but I want to make sure it is a more stable helmet.

Helmet options for the naked riders

After many trials and money spent I have decided to go naked with no windscreen. Nice clean air with no buffeting. I have tried many windscreens and different heights with and without the tilt modification with unsatisfactory results. I now prefer better gear on myself rather trying to attach the pr...

Re: Fuel Gauge

Same problems here. Ran out of gas with the fuel gauge indicating 1/2 tank full. I should have been more attentive to the miles ridden. This on a 2010 R1200R with 1400 miles. Will be replaced under warranty next week.

Re: Best place to sell my 2010 R1200R?

Trying to sell my 2010 R1200R with 1400 miles and over $2000 in add-ons on eBay with no luck for the past 3 wks. Doesnt really make too much financial sense to sell such a new bike, going to take a huge hit if I do end up selling it. Good luck!

Re: do the stock cables (clutch, throttle, electric, etc)...

I have this installed on my 2010 R1200R. There is enough slack to mount them without other mods but the break line on the right gets taut especially when turning the handlebars all the way to the left.

Re: R12R Touring

The tilt back mod for the windscreen made a big difference in terms of the buffeting and noise, it brings it to a more tolerable level. I purchased the bike with the low seat, purchased a used standard seat and of those two the standard seat is the worst. I now have the Sargent standard height and i...

Re: How satisfied are you with your Dealer?

I purchased an R1200RT back in 2005 and had it serviced there all these years. I have always been treated fairly and have had no problems. I now have a 2010 R1200R which I have also serviced there. The prices are fair and service performed in a timely fashion. They are still a BMW only dealer and a ...

Re: R12R Touring

It sure feels "lighter" and in my opinion more fun to ride than my old RT. I have a 20" CeeBailey with the tilt back mod, saddlebags, smaller topcase, Motolights and a Sargent seat. Can't wait to take off! \:D/

R12R Touring

I'm heading to the BMW MOA Rally in July on my new R1200R. My long distance tours have been on my old R1200RT. This year its South Florida to Redmond Oregon and back. Any R12R long distance riders out there? How does the bike perform on long distance (6000+ miles) tours? I have outfitted the bike wi...
