DEAR BOARD MEMBERS: Eureka! Thanks to all of you. I tried cutting the handlebar ties first, and that was enough to let me mount the bars to the new position. But just barely. Which is plenty good enough. Shanks -- y'all saved me a lot of trouble and some potentially dumb moves on my part. Off to tak...
