Re: The Wudo Fairing - Does it deliver smooth air?

You cannot beat the Wudo r1200r fairing for looks. It is exceptional. But it is also expensive and the mounts are a PITA. I fixed the BMW touring screen buffeting problem by cutting ~1.5" off the top (measured at the center) using a table saw with a plastics blade and some very fine sandpaper t...

Re: New owner introduction Alpine White R1200R

Congrats. I like the white, though my 07 is silver. You should not need "seats bloody screens" with the touring package. That model comes with a sane seat. BTW, I cut my factory touring screen down 2 inches, which removes the buffet and looks sharp. When you start doing 200-300 miles a day...

Re: BMW side cases, waterproof?

1. System Cases are waterproof. 2. You might want to use a liner to organize your stuff, especially if you are over-night traveling and want to bring your travel clothes and toiletries into a hotel. System cases are heavy and awkward, so a nylon liner with a shoulder strap is very helpful. One-up, I...

Re: Corbin report

I could not spend more than 45 mins on the stock seat without pain, like it was prying my pelvis in two. I ordered the Corbin. The seat looks really nice, and quality was good, but for one weird seem at the front left, where the suede backing shows a bit. It was hard like a brick, and the pillion sl...

Re: Turned R1200R into a modern R90S...

What is this " LSL LM1" handle bar? Where can I get one? I tried the F800ST bar (2" narrower, 2' lower) to get a more sporty position, but could not avoid it hitting the bulbous tank and honking the horn without two layers of risers, kinda ruining benefit. Eventually put the stock bar...

Re: Is it worth joining BMW Motorcycle Owners of America?

Worth it for the stickers alone. :-)

The magazine is decent overall, but an excellent source of BMW advertisement. The annual rally is pretty impressive too. They have an excellent roadside assistance plan available for short money too.

Re: Wunderlich Trophy Fairing

Buy unpainted and have it colour matched.

That really is the best looking option for the R1200R. Very sharp.

I simply cut my tall stock shield down by 2" on a table saw then sanded the edge smooth. Got rid of all the buffeting. Nice clean air around my helmet, hitting me about the chin.

Re: Another entry in the Windshield wars..

Howdy, all! Newly registered to this forum, with about 3k miles on my '07 R1200R, purchase last spring. Been reading all the windshield stuff I could find. I wound up with the following solution. Keep in mind, I am 5'10", and replaced my bars with F800ST set (with risers to avoid dinging the bu...
