Re: Service

"Service" warnings can only be reset by the dealership, or buy this little gadget call GS-911 and then you can reset the "service" warnings yourself, by the way that little gadget let's you do a lot more stuff on the bike. I'm buying one as soon as I can.

Re: Exhaust

The Remus hexacone is the one I would buy, as soon as I get 700.00 bucks to spare.
As long as is only the slip-on you are replacing (not the full exhaust system) it's an easy install.

Re: removal of rear shock cover?

It looks like you have to remove the shock from the bike and take the shock apart, or go at it with a dremel while on the bike....................................good luck.

The best "ride" in the U.S. of A. is in Southern California, only about 25 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, is GMR which stands for Glendora Mountain Road, let me know if you come to the west coast and we'll ride it together, as well as other "rides" that I know........Santa Mo...

Re: Disconcecting the battery?

I have a 2008, and when I disconnected my battery it set the "Maintenance" reminder on, mind you it only took me about 3 minutes to pull the old battery out and install the new one, I had to go to the dealer and they reseted the "Maintenace" light for me, free of charge. What was...

Re: Oh oh. Horn. Horn! HORN!!!! Where's the #$%@ horn button??!!

Well, I was wondering how it would go down and it went worse than expected. I was cruising along in the left lane of a two lane, 45 mph limit highway. Car to my right starts drifting over. Instant reaction---quick horn beep. But I can't find the button! I'm used the the big ole Harley horn button--...

Welcome to the board, great place to learn and do your own maintenance, if you ever in Southern California we'll go for a ride and work on our "chicken strips", lots of mountains around Los Angeles.

Enjoy.

Re: About this latest brake recall....

See, on two of the replies to this tread you guys said "brake lines" (plural) but they only replace one "line" (banjo??) underneath the gas tank on mine :-k and even on the recall notice it says "brake lines" and that's why I was under the impression that they replace m...

Re: so, under most conditions ....

That's right, it took me a while to get used to it, I only use the rear brake in slow speed conditions like parking lots and such and then the front brake lever for everything else.

About this latest brake recall....

So I finally went to my dealer to find out if my bike needed the brake recall, after checking the VIN it turn out that yes, it affected my bike, so I made an appointment for last friday, took the bike in and after a 2 hour wait I got my bike back...just to find out that the only thing they replace w...
