Thanks for the heads up. Just called and gave my VIN, it appears I am one of the unlucky who are being recalled. They said I should be getting a letter from BMW but I called and got my appointment anyway.

Congrats on your first trip. I just took my first long extended trip myself. I drove from NYC to Boston, with stops in CT both ways. Had a great time and learned a lot. Was gonna get on the bike today for a nice trip outside of the city, and noticed i have a screw in my rear tire. Its in there pretty good and no air seems to be leaking. the bike and tires are brand new. i just got the thing two weeks ago and there is only 150 miles on it. The service shop in manhat...

The "papers" required were:

License (m class obviously)
Valid Registration
Valid Inspection (NY inspection expires every year, not sure about every state)
Valid Insurance

if you didnt have all they took your bike for the weekend. and if you didnt pick up by monday, $20 a day at pound.
