Re: What is the TORX size?

Sears has a reputation to make the customer happy. They will gladly exchange a part. Ride your bike to Sears. Buy the one you think will fit. Go outside and fit it. If it does not fit, go back inside and exchange it for another size.

Re: Oil change frequency for R12R

I agree with Don. The 6K interval is more than sufficient for the modern engines. The folks at 441 may have been in the business since dirt was invented but the only reliable tech in that shop (Raymond) retired a few years ago. Everyone else there is either a sales person or family member interested...

Re: Warped Brake Rotors at 6K Miles

Warped rotors with 6K? I agree with bobw, if it were a brake pad issue. But rotors are a different story. Bad rotors can become a serious safety issue. If your dealer doesn't want to help you, maybe you should contact BMWNA or even seek legal advise. Something just doesn't sound right. Good Luck ple...

Re: Got my insurance bill and I'm not happy. Alternatives?

I'm with Gieco Cyclegaurd and pay $385 a year for my two bikes, with very good coverage, My '07 R1200R and my 1970 R75/5. As we all know, A lot of conditions are going to affect ones insurance rates. Age, driving record, financing. There are a lot of company's out there looking for your business. It...

Re: Disc Brake Rotor Rattles

They are floating discs. But, are you talking about a R1200R? I ask because my '07 R1200R has solid discs. In the past, I've owned an R1100R and an R1150RT. The R1100R has floating discs and I think the RT did also. Can't quite remember.

Re: The Kill Switch - a safety lesson learned the hard way.

Some lessons such as this, are never practiced and hope any rider never needs. You just hear stories from other riders who have made one of those "I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THAT" moments. Thank you for passing this along. I pray everything works out well for you and the bike. One big positive ...

Re: R1200R vs. R1200RT

I went from an '04 R1150RT to an '07 R1200R. The biggest difference is the weight. The R1200R is the all around perfect bike. Weather you load her up and go cross country or you're just ripping around on a weekend afternoon, she's a total joy to ride without all the bulk of the RT.

Re: Another windshield question

I use a Parabellum tall shield on mine. I'm very happy with it. Though I've never used a Cee Bailey or ZTechnik, so I can't give a comparison. Right from the get go, I never liked the stock sport shield.

Re: Removing the Front Wheel

You can do as I did. Go down to your local hardware store. Buy a bolt and two nuts that measure 22mm. Spin the two nuts all the way down the bolt until they come close to the head of the bolt. The two nuts need to be parallel with each other and offset from the head of the bolt. Now, cut the threads...

Re: Air filter access

Do I need to remove the battery? The gas tank? Thanks The answer is neither. Following the instructions in the factory service manual dvd, I removed the side cover, the side panel and snorkle ("air pipe" in BMW-speak) and, with a little persuasion, removed and replaced the filter. Thank Y...

Air filter access

I'm ready to service my '07 R1200R. I have an air filter I want to install. I have no manuals to go by, so I'm winging it. Any suggestions before I do something totally stupid would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to remove the battery? The gas tank? Thanks

Re: Screw in my tire

It must be the season. I got home from work this past Wednesday with low air pressure and a screw in my rear tire. Since it got me home, I didn't need a plug. Luckily, I had a set sitting in my garage, so I just swapped it out for a new Michelin Pilot Road. Now, fluid changes and I'm ready for Tenne...

Thanks, but what I meant by torque data chart is the torque settings on all the nuts and bolts on the entire bike.

Looking for torque data

Does anyone know of a TORQUE DATA CHART for the R1200's anywhere out there? I ride a "07 R1200R and would like to find a general torque chart which covers the entire bike.
