Skyking mirrors a bit fragile...

I tagged a lorry going maybe 15mph and it smashed the crap out of the mirror. Glass shattered to smitherines... Just an FYI. The visibility also does not seem to be that great since the mirrors are so far apart and not convex like Constructors Racing Group Mirrors or the stock mirrors. Back to stock...

plum In seeing the bikes you own I can truthfully say that you are not comparing apples and apples......the RC 51 is a race bike sold on the street, the R1150R is a street bike that you can take to the tack for an ocasional high speed blast.....but that is where the comparison ends. I would expect ...

Re: More on perfecting

Useless but fun: replaced the stock directionals with small dark-lensed but very bright-burning halogen units. And: followed CycleRob and sawed off most of the rear splashguard. My apologies for my TERRIBLE photography skills, but have a peek: http://fallacy.org/rockster/ I still can't find my bloo...

Go to your local muffler shop. They'll have a variety of tips. The shop I went to was so jazzed by the mod they didn't charge me and tack welded it on also. I think I'm going to put the stock can back on. I talked to my dealer's service department and they recommended against doing what I had done....

I can't wait for mine to get black. Buddy of mine has an R1150GSA and after about 15-20k his pipes started turning black after the purpling.

The black would jive nicely with the rockstericity. :-)

After I saw the neat installation using the stock clamp/shield, I went on a tear this weekend looking for the perfect extension. After about a dozen stops and even more phone calls, I finally went to the net where I found what I think is the perfect pipe. California Muffler has a 9" turn-down ...

Re: Riding position

ok, dumb question from a newbie and proud owner of a recently purchased Rockster. As a former Harley owner, I'm glad I switched and moved to the Rockster. I love the bike. The question comes from considering some longer distance riding, rather than just the dialy 50 mile (total) commute to work. As...

I have Wunderlich crash bars. Having dropped the Rock I have to say they're great. Prevented rock from any damage - just some scratches in the crash bar paint. I also have the Wunderlich lights on the bars which certainly make lane hoggers move over  I picked up the wunderlich crash bars, but ...

Agreed. Great pic.

I've been finding that the Rockster requires A LOT more body steering than I'm used to from my previous bikes, or I end up dragging peg and cylinder... Just another BMW difference to get used to.

Thanks for the wonderful picture.

Glad to hear that they saved you in the split second of need. There is nothing like a major emergency to make you grab a handful and clench the adrenalin gland as hard as the brakes. The ABS brakes on my 1150 are nothing short of stunning. I'm a strong guy and it is all that I can do to hang on whe...
