.
In all fairness folks, this thread and the responses assume that one only has 1 bike to ride. Those of us with multiple bikes space out the mileage amongst them.
That said, of the 4 bikes I ride, the R, purchased mid-Nov. '05 has about 11,500 miles on her.

. Thanks for the responses guys. Called the shop and although they are overbooked, they will look at it for me. They doubted it was the valves - and thought it might be the TBs or even a simple problem with the forks and clamps - an easy fix. So... I'll take it in and then try to figure out how to g...

She was serviced at 6.000 miles. Mid-May I don't know if they checked the valves. Ironically, my dearest just bought some specific tools to do this, thinking the vibration' source might from there, but he is coming back from Laguna Seca the afternoon of the morning I leave for Colorado. Timing!! :( ...

Too much vibration

. Getting ready to head out for a 3,000 mile mostly solo trip. Took a "test" run this evening to see if the V1/GPS/MP3 - thru Autocom worked. Nope, it sucks. Getting that engine noise in the speakers. Yes, I'll try a ground loop isolator next. (bad thing is... I can't do this myself so may...

. You certainly do tell a great story! Very good writer. I've received 2 speeding tickets in the last 9 months. One on my bike, the other in my car. It had been nearly 25 years since my last speeding ticket.. or only other speeding ticket. 1st on my bike - too fast for the signs, but not for the new...

. I've pondered the possiblilty of dying on my bike... probably think about it each time I go out - which is often, very often. However, there is nothing else in this world (outside of my nuclear family) that gives me as much pleasure as riding. It is like good sex, only lasts much, much longer. (we...

. The writer was not only already declaring himself impotent to continue living, but has no ethics either. When selling a motorcycle, we all want to get the most money we can out of it. But... why sell to a kid just out of high school, who probably has little or no experience riding? If the writer a...

Just joined this group. 6,000 miles service on my new bike today (new as of mid-Nov). New tires too. The old tires really sucked - Bridgestone Battlax - hard, unresponsive, but the back tire still wore out before 6,000 miles. Just put on Pilot Powers - wow these are some great tires. Soft, sticky, t...
