Re: Remus Hexacone Titanium exhaust
I first installed the Remus slip-on about a year ago and was pleased with the style, sound, and lighter weight compared to the stock silencer. Then recently I decided to splurge for the Remus headers to complete the system. The headers are amazing as the engine purrs and I like the sound even better...

Re: Oil analyis reports - virgin BMW 15W-50 vs 6,000 mile sample
Thanks for the info, Don. I used to change the oil on all of my boxers every 3K miles. I switched to every 6K miles about 2 years ago. This report confirms that I was wasting oil in the past. I also change my tranny oil every 6K. Maybe I should switch to 12K here?

Re: Just added Remus and PC Whooopeee!
I have the Remus Powercone on my R12R and a Akrapovic can on my R12GS. I like the style and sound of the Remus a little bit better.cwrose wrote:I don't wish to hijack this thread, but does anybody have Akrapovic's slip on for the R1200R? If so, any comments, pros, cons, etc?

Re: Just added Remus and PC Whooopeee!
I added a Remus Powercone last month and the sound alone is worth the price. Decided on the titanium with a shorter length for a sleek look. I feel the same way as the original poster in that a few revs at every stoplight is a must. My daily commute improved from good to outstanding.

Re: Buying advise
I can give thumbs up to all of your questions except touring, as I use my ADV for that purpose. I comute every day in horrible Miami traffic on my R12R. I hate the traffic, but love the bike. FWIW, I added bar risers, Sargent seat, valve cover guards, Remus exhaust, and Hyperlites. I like the sound ...

Re: Oil change frequency for R12R
Tom, It is interesting the way someone can insinuate something or make a statement that will disparage the reputation of another without providing facts to back up the assertions. In this case you have cast aspersions upon 441 Cycle. For the record, I have been a customer there since moving to Sout...

Re: Is the R1200R perfect?
My appreciation for the R12R improved considerably during the past 3 months. I owned an R1150R for commuting daily to work and really liked the bike, but didn't love it. No problems with the bike, it just didn't excite me that much when I rode it. So, I sold it on Ebay this past spring and graduated...

Re: R1200GS or R1200R?
As an owner of several R (1100, 1150, 1200) and GS (1150, 1200) bikes, here is my perspective. The R12R is by far the easiest and most exhilarating bike to ride. I ride this bike to work every day and always look forward to my commute at the beginning and end of every day. Now that's a concept, huh?...
