Re: Mesh Jacket and Over Pants

Thanks all for the feedback on the Airglide. This confirms what I have mostly found to be positive impressions of the gear. I have decided to go ahead with the purchase. Thanks Vann for the info on Acme Motorcyles in Asheville. I gave them a call today and they have the hi-vis yellow in stock in the...

Mesh Jacket and Over Pants

I am in the market for a hi-vis mesh jacket and mesh over pants. I am looking at the Olympia Airglide 2 mesh jacket in neon yellow and the Airglide 2 mesh over pants. Anybody had experience with the Airglide? Also, I do not have a local dealer so I will need to order via the internet. Any recommenda...

Re: Fuel Brand - Does it make a difference?

Thanks all for the feedback. The Hess station in question is very busy so the turnover should be good. I will stick with it for a while and see what happens. As a bonus, the Wilco/Hess stations now carry dunkin donuts coffee. At least here locally. However, someone will need to school me in the art ...

Fuel Brand - Does it make a difference?

The previous owner of my bike ran BP/Amoco Ultimate 93 octane fuel exclusively. I have had the bike for a little over a year and have continued using that fuel until recently. I have a gas credit card for Wilco/Hess which is a regional brand here in the southeast U.S. It's the most convenient statio...

Re: A newbie needs a little help

Hello all, I installed the new disconnects from beemer boneyard today. Wasn't too bad. Hardest part was removing the Oetiker clamps and the old disconnects. After prying and pulling on them with a flat head and some pliers for 45 minutes or so I had them off. Piece of cake putting the new disconnect...

Re: A newbie needs a little help

Thanks all for the excellent advice. I am going to order the QD kit from Beemer Boneyard tomorrow. I am also going to wire the permanent mount ring terminals to the battery which means pulling the tank again. #-o It will probably make the job changing the QDs easier anyway. Despite the excellent adv...

A newbie needs a little help

Hello all, I have been lurking around this board since Aug. 07 when I purchased my 04 boxer after a 20 year hiatus from motorcycles. I am officially in my mid-life crisis and enjoying it greatly. I have learned a good deal about my bike from reading the posts here. I few weeks ago I was going to go ...
