Waiting for some warmer weather and drier roads to test ride the R1200RT. I might test ride the GT, depending on how big the tax return is. I have to say, the RT was actually much more comfortable to sit on than the GT. I expect the insurance will be much cheaper for the 110HP RT than the 153HP GT. ...

MOVING ON. . THANKS FOR THE RIDE!

Just sold my 2004 R1150R. Time to upgrade. I'm torn between a Triumph Sprint St ABS, Honda ST 1300 ABS, and BMW K1200GT. The price tag on the first two are leading me away from the beloved BMW. I will definately stop in from time to time to read about the timeless R1150R. I have really enjoyed readi...

That brought back a few memories. I was at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey in 1990 - 1992. The clam chowder on Fisherman's Wharf is the best I've ever had.

Maybe a moderator can answer this one.

Why are we not allowed to post photos directly from our own computers?

Got mine from bmwsantacruz.com. You can download the Wunderlich catalog for the R1150R from their web site. It's on page 19 of the catalog - you can get either carbon or unpainted. They have to order it from Germany, so it takes a few weeks. I am very happy with the carbon version. It takes about 5 ...

The Judge (or magistrate) will not even entertain your laser pen demonstration. It is not even close to the size and weight of the LIDAR gun. The accuracy of the LIDAR is +/- 1 mph and is accurate at distances up to and over 5,000 feet. Beating a ticket from a LIDAR gun is basically impossible. You ...

Finally got mine installed. The left bolt went in fairly easy. The right bolt took about 30 minutes. But, any time spent with the R is fun for me. How far away, or how close, are you guys setting the screen from the top of the headlight? Or, if you rest it on the headlight what are using for a cushi...

I've been reading the posts on this site since I got my '04 R1150R in November of '04. I spend a lot of time on this site - waiting for the snow to melt. The mountains of Colorado are nice in the summer! This site has really been a wealth of information for me and it has made me really enjoy my BMW....
