There's a lot I don't know; here's one more thing: Why would Russian Bots be interested in spamming this board ?

The board needs a software upgrade. PM Doug for details.

Funny thing is I'm a member of a board devoted to classic bamboo fly rods. It's about as small a subset of the fishing world as there is. At least once a week the board is taken over with spam posts, many don't even bother to translate from Russian into English. I don';t know how it all works but suspect that these things are sent *everywhere* hoping for access, including this board.

I've now lost several posts and a whole thread. (ok the thread was asking where the posts had gone).
Admins, please tell us what's happening or people will leave. :(

Went through the same recently with a couple of posts about my sight glass replacement. It's puzzling to return to the page to see something has gone missing. Is there anything we can do collectively to keep the board viable? I agree with Riceburner, if it keeps happening, what is already a small group will drift elsewhere.

What options are there for the message board? How can we help Doug?
Is it time to move content to another system, or website - like Borg assimilation via ADV Rider, where the R1150 Oilhead content is germane? Or BMMOA.

This website either needs to die or get the needed support. With as few of us that's left maybe it's time.

Is there a way to quarantine Russian webusers?
That would solve a whole bunch of problems...

Another post disappeared -this morning. Shame really as it was to thank members for their help in recent clutch and seal changes.

OK, looked at that, think I like my old Pelican Forum for R1100S/R1200S better but thanx for offering...

This was my last build there (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-r110 ... -bike.html), think I'll do this again...
