Travel Stickers, Dorky Question

Post by Dr. Strangelove »

Let's assume that I know, and accept, that it is dorky to put stickers on your bike luggage of where you've ridden. Let's also assume that some may view it as unsightly.
Check and check.

That said, are stickers bike specific or rider specific? Example, the "dragon" sticker for Deals, if you rode it on a previous bike, could you legitimately put it on a new bike that has not done Deals simply because YOU rode it?

Crazy question...bike specific not rider. That's where the sticker goes...on the bike that was there.

Yeah, that's what I thought. New bike has sticker envy. Gotta ride more!
Thanks. :)

I am a sticker freak. My bike is in the "R" in the back. No stickers on the paint, but the windshield and boxes are fair game.

So, if I understand this correctly...I can't get a Deal's Gap tattoo on my butt unless I actually HIKE the dragon on foot?

To stir stings up a bit ;)

So the sticker goes on the bike that has been there / done the ride.
When the bike is sold, the stickers stay on as it is too much effort to take them off.
Now the new owner has a bike with a lot of stickers of where the bike has been.
Other riders may assume that the rider was there too.

OTOH, the new owner has bought a bike with a history- a documented one, so if other riders A S S U M E, well you know.

I am getting ready to transfer ownership of my trusty Stella! stickers and all. If the new owner wants to remove them, his call. They may serve as a conversation starter though.

I'm in the minority, I think the "Sticker" can go with any of the riders bikes, I could argue either way, but, stickers lead to conversation, & it is the rider who tells the tale! I am not a huge fan of stickers but I do purchase them every once in awhile & when I take the time to buy a sticker I generally buy a couple, one for the bike, & one maybe for the wall in the shed or maybe to put on another bike.jmop

This sticker is displayed on all my MC's
