Buy 96 or 00 ?
There are two r1100r available today. A shop serviced 96 with 38,000mi and a 00 never been in a shop with 60,000mi. Both are in good visual shape. Were there any compelling mechanical updates done by bmw between 94 and 00? Both owners say there are no issues. (hmmm)

If you inspect them, you'll notice the '96 had a different dashboard (by many deemed way prettier) this also means most importantly that the 00 model has a updated gearbox which fixed some major issues. Well maintained beemers can ride a lot of miles so I'd go for the 00 model, but i cant see them. Cables and wiring might be in better shape on the younger model.

Bought the 2000. It has 60,000 mi and the condition is stunning. Looks like it just came out of the factory crate .
