Nice. That moss is beautiful. You must be in the northern California redwoods.

Oregon coast? You must have "purchased" that wood, as it looks "bone dry" What size is the windscreen?Lost Rider wrote:Who knew winter could be so wet and green?

These were taken near Cresent City…. Yeah, not a chance of using wood from the forest around here! Even with my axe and splitting the wood I had a tough time keeping it going due to the 100% humidity. Cold too… 35º and wet is a bit chilly when camping, but at least The Masses are away.
Frikin' wet! and very different from the time I spent in Death Valley last week.
I like contrasts to be found with a R1200R and a F800GS…..
That would be the BMW Touring screen….. my choice for….. everything! No pressure on my chest, yet clean air for my helmet, you know, like on a naked bike.
Time to ride!

This bike is such a treat to ride and is very much so at home on the Pacific Coast Highway or on the 101.
Still quite possibly the perfect motorbike.

Very nice Rrider!
It's great to see other folks out having fun camping with their Roadsters, especially the pretty black ones.

Camping with the R is half the fun for me. This was taken at Twin Lakes campground, near Bridgeport, CA. Very beautiful area.

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!
Thank you very much!
It was a big fire and good times.... too wet and cold to screw around with a little fire, plus I had a very special local organic grass fed aged ribeye to cook on the coals.
Today was weird. It's like I don't even know myself anymore.
My bike already looked pretty good with some bugs on the screen, a little mud near the bottom, you know, like a bike that's been places far away.
But now ever since I cleaned her up last month and she actually has some parts that can shine, I felt the burning need to go and wash her before her next ride!
In know, it's crazy! Almost embarrassing.
From the fruits of my labor I was rewarded when I hit the canyons afterwards.
Everything just felt very right, with all components working in harmony, suspension super dialed in, perfect weather/humidity/barometric pressure..... I finally did it while taking a nice sweeper - found the limits of my new protectors, and what they sound like while sliding around a corner.

Washing your bike!?!?
Here's one from my ride today, up Highway 1 North of San Francisco. Rough weather here in California.

I know I know.... Like I said I'm going crazy.
Rough weather we have here....
Going crazy especially since it wasn't really dirty, comparatively speaking of course.

It's hard to picture Lost Rider on a clean bike. BTW - That beach photo with the driftwood is one of my favorites
Hooligan - Rough weather? At least you're not surrounded by 3 feet of snow for weeks and weeks at a time.

Cool bike!
Who rents tricked out 1200R's?....
Nice mug too, to put with the name!

I know, it's a new me.
Thank you.
That spot is Ursal Beach on the NorCal Lost Coast. Worth the effort to visit and camp there...
A quick ride this morning with Nancy up the coast. Back home now as The Masses have come out..... I stay away from riding locally on weekends except for real early before the Racer-Squids and Harley Clones take over the roads. It's bad enough with the very annoying, all healthy, think they own the road people on their bicycles out in the mornings.
Still a nice short ride on the PCH
Being unemployed, I really do have nothing better to do than ride and post photos...

I rented the r1200 because at a time i was just thinking about buying one, i still had a Kawasaki meanstreak at that point so what a better way to test ride then to rent it for 3-4 days and go for a ride in the desert .
You know what they say test riding is dangerous to your wallet

Very nice, I'd bet with a test ride like your checkbook was surely doomed!
