Hey all, I am finding it hard to check or recheck air on my front tire because the valve is pointing inwards toward the disc break. I.E. I have burns on my hands if I have been riding more than 5 minutes. I have a hose on my air gauge so I can fit it in there, but not without touching the disc break. I am looking at something like this

I am not sure it would fit... but the idea is what I want, something that I can push easier (not a hose) and get an accurate reading once I have been up awhile. Motorcycles have recommended some of these types but instead of buying then seeing if it will work on the r1200r I figured I would ask what people are using.

does that stay on your bike perm? so you can use any gauge?

I've been using the same pencil type tyre pressure guage for about 30 years. It's readings exactly match the bike's computer read out so it seems to be accurate enough. I also have three other fancier guages and no two of them agree as to the tyre pressure and neither do they agree with the pencil guage so I don't use them.

I usually check my tyres at home and if necessary add air using a small compressor driven off the car cigarette lighter. Access to the tyre valves is a bit awkward on these bikes but checking my tyres cold I've not been at risk of getting burned by a hot disc.

When I bought the bike it came with a short length of braided hose that screws onto the tyre valves allowing the tyres to be pumped up at places that have long metal ends on their air hoses.

I use the Accutire gauge as well. Love it as it was a gift from my lady. Works well for getting around afore mentioned hot ass rotors.

Moroso Dial Gauge. Very nice for about $40

I've had one for about six years and I think it has the same battery.

Is this a new classic? The earlier ones pointed directly out of a spoke, once you spin the wheel so it's near the top, it's a piece'a'cake.

I use a gauge that is part of the inflator valve assembly for my compressor. It seems quite accurate - my TPM and it agree..

BTW - it's "brake".. "break" is something that's broken.

I use an Oxford from Twisted Throttle. Pretty sweet, but the first one I got from them didn't work.

LongAcre 0 - 60 PSI supposedly one of the most accurate tire gauges.

Talk of burning hands on rotors is concerning. Why are they so hot? Mine cool down relatively quickly after a ride. And unless you are taking measurements at the track to manage pressure very closely while monitoring what's going on with the tire itself, isn't tire pressure meant to be set when the tire is cold?
