Hey....I might be an odd ball, moving from the R1150R and a Suzuki 1200 Bandit to a Honda PC 800 and a Suzuki Burgman 650 twin with 50 hp that is a blast to ride albeit a little chunky. I'll have to make one of the upcoming Bashes and show some of you my tail....err...the back side of my Burgman....

Re: From Black to White...To Match My Hair?
The new 1250 Bandit is the biggest best standard bike the least amount of money can buy. It's very different, in many good ways, from it's previous generation air cooled carburetted 1200 Bandit. It's actually a better bike than the more expensive Yamaha FZ-1 competitor. It's so good it has no real streetbike competition. So many riders buying uncomfortable, expensive to buy, repair & insure 600 or 1000cc SportBikes should really be getting the 1250 Bandit.
Oh crap! we HyJacked the thread.
How about this: The new F650GS actually has the 798cc 2cyl motor!

Re: From Black to White...To Match My Hair?
I test rode the F800GS and the new F650GS back to back last week. I have to say that I liked the F650 better. It was lower of course and had higher gearing than the 800. There was some difference in power though I was told the only power difference would be over 80MPH. The foot controls are a little more rear set on the 800 as well. I was comfortable with both.
The 800 seemed to have more heat coming off the engine in the stop and go traffic than the 650. At speed there was not much heat though.
I don't know if it was because I rode the 800 first, but the 650 seat was not very comfortable at all. They did change the low seat to the regular for my test ride. The low had even less padding!!
I like the "new" f650 twin way better than the f650 single. Motor was smoother, had good acceleration and was a joy to ride. Not sure if it would be my next bike or not, check out my "other bike recommendations in off topic", but it will be considered.

My new F658GS is on the boat....As of this past Tuesday. The KOBE something or other. They even had the number of the big box it is in and the crate ID, etc.. Exciting news!
I was told it would be maybe 3 more weeks until it hits the dealership here.
