Great POW..even greater friend.

Post by DJ Downunder »

The current POW (picture of the week/month) is someone that I got to meet here and and we have become great friends over the years.

It's Mike from the UK...and this is an old pic of his beautiful black Roadster.

Mike and I communicate almost weekly and I'd like to take the opportunity to thank him for a big favor that he did for me recently.

Mike knows that I am a huge Isle of Man fan and he knew that I was after a limited edition TT100 helmet (it was the 100th TT this year).

I tryed to order one but non were coming to Australia..and I don't think any made it to the US either.

The small amount made were snapped up in the UK and Europe..Even friends that went to the TT this year could not get one for themselves.

Anyway...somehow Mike was able to get one for me.. http://www.minihaha.co.uk/acatalog/ttm.jpg ..what a great guy.

It's a collectors item that I will only wear on special ocassions..here's a couple of pics..ain't she a beaut.

btw Arai also did one but nowhere near as good imo.. http://www.thevisorshop.com/acatalog/tthelmetupdate.jpg

Thanks Mike....and thanks to this forum for making friends across the world that I would never usually meet.

This forum really is great for that sort of thing.
Whenever we eat on a MC trip I always try to remember 'a food pic for that guy in Australia', or whenever we stopped near a church 'a church pic for that lady in Texas'.

I don't know any of you, but the familiarity of some of your posts makes it seem like we're all on the same page sometimes.

DJ you cant use that helmet in Australia there is no Standards Australia

However i am able to get a clearance for you after several months

is that OK

Amazing helmet. That needs to be displayed in a lighted glass case levitated above sparkling diamonds and rubies. Or on your noggin in a padded cell.
Great to see a long distance plan work out
