R1150R Owners Tempted to Switch?

I know. Prolly shouldn't have voted since I already made the switch. But I did it in the last 3 months and I've still got less (2 miles) than 1k miles on the new, Bigger Beak!

I can honestly say that my answer is not on the poll. None of the above! At this time I am very happy with the R and it will do everything I want at speeds beyond my skill.
There may be a lowered GS or an ST in my future, but I am not hot for one yet. Certainly not like the hots I had (and still have) for my current ride!
Sort of like marriage. The wife says when I stop looking at women, she'll know it's time to bury me.
Doesn't matter where you get your appetite, as long as you eat at home! Right now I am just looking but have no desire for any other bike (or wife).
Of course, a new bike would be cheaper than a new wife!

The ST does turn my head. It's not a thing that makes me ache in any way. It's more like keeping in mind which bike you'd get if you suddenly had about 15-20K to spend on a motorcycle. You gotta know at a moments notice what you'd buy.
I'm not a test rider, didn't ride the R before buying it, I just knew it was what I wanted. The RS will always have special place in my heart so I see the ST as just an updated RS. It may be a better two up tourer than the R and that practicality would weigh the most in the decision to trade up. I've got a wife that occasionally rides with me and 2 kids that do the same. If occasionally becomes regularly I may give serious thought to the ST. I would like to ride an ST, just to know.
On the other hand, I do have this crazy desire to drag a knee but my size and the R's ergos prevent me from doing it. Skill may have an itty bitty teentsie weenstie part in that prevention as well. The K1200R appeals to the knee dragger in me. I'll likely never justify one in my stable. I may test ride one later this year though.
Like Vann, and all men, I have a roaming eye and an appreciation of beauty but it ends there. The costs to act are way too expensive. Too bad you can't test drive women like you can bikes.

If I was to win the lottery tomorrow, I would keep my 1150R and go and buy a K1200S and a K1200R. But since that ain't gonna happen...
I am having a blast with my 1150R. And it is only a year old. Perhaps at the beginning of next riding season, with two years depreciation under my belt I might be tempted to trade for a K1200S. Having ridden naked thus far, I am tempted to try riding with a fairing in front of me.
But DJ has really tempted me with all those picks of the K1200R he has been posting. Please stop it...

One, I am planning to keep my R1150R forever. Having said that, I am overcome by lust over the K1200S, have a "real need" for the R1200RT, and would love to have the R1200GS for the coolness factor.

Well...
There was a time last year on this forum when I was drawn to either a BMW R-1150-RT or a Yamaha FJR-1300, but some more rides on inline fours put the Yamaha out to pasture (though 145 hp does have its allure...). Finally decided that it just wasn't worth the extra dough to trade up to an RT and gain so much weight and lose the R-1150-R's back roads and around town giggle factor...
Besides, I am just now getting my Beak right where I always wanted it to be.
That said, I am slowing beginning to feel inexorably drawn toward...

Especially after reading in both "Motorcyclist" and "Cycle World" that it handled *BETTER* in the twisties than the new R-1200-ST !!!
Comfort of an RT, with better handling than even an R!
Power of an ST, with the weather protection of an RT!
Cruise control, adjust on the fly suspension, smoother engine, lights ot melt a hole in the darkest night, a real on-board trip computer with DTE, more fuel capacity than some ocengoing tanker ships, and all about the same weight as my R-1150-R, with better handling and *MORE* horsepower...
Yep, that's my next street bike - a BMW R-1200-RT.
Can you imagine the looks on the faces of some of the acne-set "Ricky Racers" on their wonder UJM 600's getting waxed in the squiggly sections by some old guy on an RT *TOURING BIKE"?
I can't wait!
