The Long Ride...with PHOTOS! :-)

Post by AlbertJohnson »

Ok, now the photos...i'm a math teacher so some statistics for anyone interested.
15 day trip, total 4600 miles...5 day layover in beautiful Colorado.
ave. miles per day taking out 5 day layovers, about 420 miles per day...2nd longest day across the Nevada desert to Carson City, 560 miles about 12 hours, longest day from Cripple Creek, Co to Flagstaff, 12 hours and 650 miles. Ave. cost per day, not counting tickets and flat tires, but counting food, gas, motels and a few souven.'s $80 per day...cheapest motel in Bigfoot capital, $35, highest, Flagstaff and too tired to look for cheaper, $77.
the R1150R is a dream bike...got at least 52 mpg and up to 62 mpg, this surprised me.
Ok, the photos, enjoy...more to come after this....click on 'slideshow' at the top, and hit pause to read captions...click on each photo for larger shot. (about 78 photos in all)

I like to see these places I've never been. Thanks for the sharing your pictures.

Getting out west is next on my "to do list". Either in the car with the family, or on a bike. One way or another I want to get out and see that part of the U.S.
