Left side case gathering dust?

Post by sweatmark »

Hey folks

I'm looking for cheap battered unwanted unloved R1150** left side System case. Specifically the R/GS high exhaust version of inner case half. In USA or Canada. PM me or respond here.

Not right side case... that side will get different configuration.

Thanks

oooo - I'm sensing a project... keep up up to date....

I always wanted to convert a pannier into something that would hold my archery kit (a 50" bow and 30" arrows, so - a pannier modified with a 55" tube sticking out of it somehow). I may well still get around to this in the future, when I have a workshop again. :)

Re the spare pannier, IIRC I 'might' have one hidden away somewhere - but..
a) I'm in the UK
b) it's hidden away somewhere
c) I have no time to fix b) at this time
d) postage will be higher than from your home landmass due to a)
e) I have no time to investigate or perform d)
f) I have my own plans (see above)
g) Best of luck though! :D

The case "augmentation" idea is winter project, and I can send you result for whatever hack might be appropriate to carry bow + quiver. Bought myself a City lid for left side, and want a metal external frame that ties into hinge points and lid, with mounting surface for a Rotopax etc.

But of more immediate concern is completing high beam LED project. How many diehard Rockster guys are still here, besides you and Mike (Kirby), my brother riding my 1st Rockster and me? Christmas presents for all.

Keep us informed, definitely sounds interesting.

My plan was to try to find a tube that is the same plastic as the pannier materials and 'plastic weld' them together so that the pannier lid is what gives access to the tube, rather than having a cap on the end of the tube (although that would be an acceptable alternative, dependant on how things go).
