R Series Oldtimer

Post by turrider »

Dear BMW R Series Enthusiasts,

I konu that there are lots of people form worldwide locations. I need a proper information form you.

Recently and suddenly I came Across a 1953 R 51/3 in sale from a friends father. After an insistive period finished with " please dont let it go to a stranger" word, i found the oldboy in my garage. Being in Turkey, after 3 weeks, from as pare part point of view I am desperate and had decided that I am hopeless. I had disassembled everything now.

So my question is if you do you know serious guys from your country who can supply me parts ? I Will intend to buy Bulk items (gaskets, cable, 6v electricAl harness )Advice on fits from similar or new generation machines ? Like cables, hand grips, adaptive air filtre systems ? Throttles etc..

And you might consult MAX BMW's Vintage resources:

They appear to walk the walk WRT old airheads support.

Thank you guys. It is incredible that retrofits for those series are still in a functional state. It is amazing that even the surrounding systems are prone to be dead The engine is healtier than my r1150 !
