Hi
Been almost two years since I sold my 1200r
Missed it .rode a ktm superduke daily for the whole time.ordered a r 9t in oct.
4 weeks left to wait now..
I see that some have already got theirs.
In the suspence of waiting I purchased a 13 plate r1200 anniversary , what a great bike.
Roll on to april .
Lost rider I see you done 100,000 , thats a serious mileage .I'll rack up 20000 a year shared between a couple of bikes.
Hows the 9t..?
Must be good.

Re: I'm selling my 07' R1200R.
Is it just me or does the RnineT look about 2/3 scale when compared to the R1200R in the first pic of you at the dealer? I'm sure it's just an optical illusion but kinda funny.
I went and sat on one today at the local dealer and the RnineT is better looking than the R1200R and feels a little lighter with more of the weight lower. I really like the front forks and feel the telelever setup is not necessary any longer on a quality modern conventional front fork.
I did not find it more comfortable than the R1200R however. I felt the riding position was less upright, a little more leaned in to the wind and the seat was not necessarily better either being a tad narrower than the comfort seat. The differences were subtle but if I had to chose one as more comfortable, for me it would be the R1200R. Probably not a problem for you but for me, a bit on the heavy side (5'9" 225lbs), every square inch of seat I can get helps.
Congratulations. Bike looks great in your garage.

Hi lost rider
Just seen on your 9t you have the rocker cover gaurds attached, please these the bmw ones
, are they plastic or blacked metal?
I used touratech on last 09 r.
For my newer bikes looking for something else.
I also see you gone for the normal indicators, wise move as I have had three now got broke .
One by me , brushed past in garage, two while parked.people walking past.
Old type are rounded off nice.
Cheers piston.

Finn,
In the photo of Nancy's new bike on the R1200R photo thread, it looks like you've mounted a black box in place of the passenger seat on the R9T. Am I seeing things? If not, what is it and how did you mount it?
Thanks,
Sander

Re: I'm selling my 07' R1200R.
That box is a HPRC 2200 case.
I have a wide variety of these cases and you'll see different ones mounted on my bike at different times.Makes for an everything-proof tail box that I don't think looks out of place on the 9T at all... sometimes function over fashion takes precedence.
It's mounted using bolts that go into the threaded bits that hold the tail section to the subframe. Very sturdy, easy to remove and I can get my seat off still with it on.
And a few more photos, my 9T is broken in now with the first service done last night.... now it's time to have some fun!
I will post up some thoughts and comparisons soon.
Need. More. Seat. Time.

I thought it looked really good until I googled it and saw the price. Now I think it looks fantastic.

Bike looks like a lot of fun... can't wait to hear your report about your first longer trip with it! And I really like Nancy's bike too ... glad she gets to play with the R1200R now... how does she like it so far? Has she had a chance to ride the 9T yet?

I've noticed that the final drive ratio in the R9T is the GS' 2.91 vs the R12R's 2.75. With the R9T's low weight and lower gearing it must be pretty snappy.
