Bought one of these and it works!

Bought one and used it and it works! Fits through the rubber valve cover grommet/gasket nicely. I had been using a deep-well socket I turned down, but it wsn't as deep as this one so it wasn't long enough to reach the plug without an extension, which would often pop out of the socket and then I had to fish the socket out with needle nose pliers, so this is an improvement.

My bike never had a tool kit, so I've never had the correct spark plug socket.
If you don't either, this will work!

They're on sale at Harbor Freight:

Can't say since I don't have them. This socket will fit in the well at the top (outer end) of the cylinder head valve cover to extract that plug.

I bought one of these at Harbor Freight, on sale. I just got around to trying it last night. It did not fit in my 2002 -- it is too thick.
