Finally a bit of information has surfaced.....your bike is an 04' with the 4 plug engine. I venture to say that one or both of your stick coils are weak....... this is a common problem around the mileage your bike is showing.
Do a search to find how to check them or hopefully someone will chime in, if not send me a PM with your phone and I'll walk you through the procedure.
Good luck

Re: Fuel Filter replacement
If you pull the cable end located over the right-hand throttle body out of the ferrule it rests in and then reseat it, I suspect that will fix the problem.also check the trottle cable nothing appears to loose
If after a couple minutes at idle the right hand cylinder head is not as warm as the left, this is very likely the problem.

Re: Fuel Filter replacement
I had more trouble with the supposedly reusable OEM vent line clamps.Removing the single use OEM clamps was the biggest pain for me
I gave up trying to reuse them when I couldn't reclamp them.
I didn't have any hose clamps in the shed but did have a couple of spare 9 mm EFI clamps.
After installing them onto the vent lines, getting the fuel pump/filter assembly back into the tank and attempting to reposition the fuel plate back onto the tank I found that the extra size of the EFI clamp fouled the edge of the tank cut out so that the bolt holes on the plate and the tank didn't line up.
So I got to practise taking the fuel pump/filter assembly out again, and them went for a drive.
I finally settled on the smallest 8-12 mm hose clamp I could find in an auto parts store.
Overall though the job was doable for a first timer - tedious and at times frustrating - but doable.
It certainly helped having read the filter replacement threads on this forum.

Makes you seriously consider relocating the filter outside the tankRic wrote:I love my R1200R but......all this trouble to replace a fuel filter !!!

Re: Fuel Filter replacement
All is well with fuel filter. I put everything back together okay. It was just the fuel line housing not seating properly. Once I retset it in everything was fine. Thanks to all for the suggestions and advice.
