Re: I'M STILL ALIVE
I have known Wayne since the first Bash he attended. A year or so ago my wife Ann accompanied me to meet Wayne who was nearby Atlanta because of a business trip. We decided over the phone on a restaurant somewhat between us. I remember it was quite cold out and we had a lengthy talk between bites of food and afterward. When Wayne's illness more recently put him into a coma, we were both totally stunned and deeply saddened. It was a quiet evening where few words were spoken. We had previously talked on the speaker phone occasionally so we both knew this man well enough to call him a friend.
On our way back from Dave's home to ours after attending the Glenn Beck 8/28 rally in DC, our 2 night guest host Dave (Beemeridian) guided us on his bike to the Hospital Wayne is in. It added about an hour to our destination home that turned out to be about 3am. We let Dave walk into his private room first, were he proclaimed he brought some visitors that wanted to see him. When we both walked in, you should have seen the surprise on Wayne's face! We live almost 400 miles away, so we were guests he could not even have imagined. It was good to see him alive, albeit with pipes and a light brown liquid feeding tube, out of the bed, sitting in a wheelchair. I credit his stubborn determination for bouncing back at all, and know it will serve him well for the slow-n-steady recovery ahead.
Good to see you alive and slowly getting better Wayne! It erased most of the buzzkill worry Ann and I had about your future. I know that if the tables were turned, you would have done the same for me.

Hey Wayne! Glad to hear from. I just read about a famous restaurant in Staunton called "Lamberts". I'm sure you are familiar with it, but I wasn't. Maybe pretty soon we can meet you there for a laugh and a meal. Keep getting better!
Re: I'M STILL ALIVE
Wayne, we've never met; however, I have genuinely appreciated your shared wisdom and good humor here on the site. I wish you a full and speedy recovery.

Re: I'M STILL ALIVE
Hello again guys,
I'm dictating my response to you guys by way of one of the many beautiful therapist in this hospital. She has so kindly consented to help me with this. I am in Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia on the Acute Rehab unit recovering from Guillain Barre Syndrome. It is a nervous system illness that has laid me up since May of this year. I will be in therapy for many months to come. Typing responses is going to be difficult for the time being until I regain the use of my hands. I will try to post my weekly progress. As of right now I am doing well. I still can not walk and I still have limited movement in my arms but that is improving daily. This hit me in late May, I was in a coma for 10 days and have been in 3 different hospitals. I am now back close to home where I can see my family. Thanks for your continued support and please keep sending your prayers as I have a long road ahead of me.
Sincerely,
Wayne/Towerworker
