Northern Japan Mountain Roads

Post by gaijin »

I went up and down this mountain for years (with Harley); I decided to take some pictures this time with a Beemer, Yahoo!!!. All of these pictures are from Hokkoda Mountain Area (near city of Aomori). The weather is always unpredictable up there.

These curves are not really bad; the other side of this mountain has some sharp and steep curves (8 - 10 degrees).

Memorial is for dead soldiers in the early 1900's, frozen to death during the training. Wrong forecast on the weather, unprepared for nasty winter storm (out of 50, 2 or 3 survived).

These roads are opened for summer only.

Gaijin-san... thanks for sharing. Nice looking roads. So, are the roads more fun on a BMW than they were on the Harley?

Ves,

Yes, I am more secure with the Beemer than Harley, always concern about low clearance during the sharp turns. Quick response on the throttle!!

I will post more pictures on next ride.
