BMWMOA Gettysburg Getaway Weekend
I know of at least 2 R1200Rs headed to the Gettysburg weekend in April, both from NYC. Anybody else heading there in April on their R1200R?

Re: BMWMOA Gettysburg Getaway Weekend
It's a mebbe for me. The weekend is gonna be rather pricey (hotel $100/night, rally fee $85).. plus I usually do Square Route (first weekend of June) which is in the same (but a bit better) area, and I'm booked for Morton's Spring Fling in Covered Bridge VA, and my usual route takes me right through that area.
So it's mebbe. Mebbe yes, mebbe no. I think as it gets closer and we get an idea of the weather I'll decide. April can be a bit iffy in those parts of PA/MD..

I will be there on my 2009 Alpine White and my best friend will be there on his 2008 Granite Gray R1200R. We are travelling from North Carolina, up Rt 15 through Frederick, MD.
We hope to do some rides into Amish country and perhaps visit Hershey, PA, so I can see where they make Reese's Cups, since I have been addicted to them since 1958. Although now, unfortunately, I must partake of the sugar free variety.

We are planning on stopping in Philly for Revzilla on the way down. If any locals have suggestions for a place for lunch there, I'd appreciate it.
We'll see you at the reception on Friday night if we don't see you on the ride out.

A few blocks from Revzilla on Oregon Ave is Tony Luke's, a Philly institution.
Genos and Pats Steaks not too far on Passyunk Ave of course.
These are all outside eateries, famous sandwiches.
If it's a roast beef aus jus sandwich with gravy fries, the tops is Nick's Roast Beef, 20th and Jackson.
It's a small bar, beer is cold too.
If you like Asian food China Town is about 15 blocks north.
Favs:
Phad Thai at Pho Xue Lau - 9th and Race. Best you will ever have. (Viet-Thai)
Curried Chicken Boneless with a Achat appetizer at Penyang near 10 and Race. (Malaysian food)
Coconut Galanga soup at Rangoon, 10th and Cherry Sts. (Burmese food)
Grilled platter at Vietnam Palace -10th and Vine
Freedom is dangerous. Those in power that steal freedom are more dangerous.
