Lets bump this back to the top. Plenty of camping space available for anyone undecided! Late arrivals will be welcomed.

This is an area of really outstanding roads to ride, so come join us if you have never been.

Charlie, My August schedule is still up in the air and will be until about a week before Hungry Mother. If I'm able to come, I'de be glad to ride with ya.
Well, I'm officially out. Looks like my riding season is over as I'll be on tour most of the rest of the year the rest of the year.

I'm sorry to report....that I'm still coming. I may have two Georgia recruits attending with me. Marvin is in his final phase of becoming a member of the HM Elite with his 3rd visit. Another great friend of ours may also be coming. His name is simply C.A. I expect C.A. will be riding his R1200GS. Marvin will be on the "Bear Killer".

I'm paid up and getting prepared to show up sometime Friday afternoon. I've invited a few buddies from work and it sounds like one of them is going to come but we'll see.

Now, onto updating my GPS/iPod. Oh, I need to change my rear tire too. Plus repair the ground for my GPS. So much to do, and the time to do it.

Thanks Vann.
My kid has to work so I'm solo with challey. I am literally counting the hours.

Extended forecast does not look good. I won't be attending if it'll be a drip-fest.

CHRIS! It wouldn't be Hungry Mother if it didn't rain. That's a given. But it will only rain after 5PM each day...and during dinner on Saturday night. Never fails. But we still have a blast and its warm enough getting wet is no big deal.

I personally am really looking forward to the weekend...rain or no rain. 4 1/2 more days and I'm on my way.

And Carlos paid for a site also! And I thought Boxer said JB was coming.

So here is the protocols for getting sites! It is highly likely I won't arrive until Friday. There are 11 sites in Loop C. They will only let us reserve 10 of them, the 11th is strictly on a first come basic.

I have all 10 of the sites that can be reserved paid up for Friday and Saturday night. They usually post the reserved sites with the name of the person reserving them, so for any of the early arrivals, the sites marked 'Waters' are ours. We usually check in at the HQ out on Highway 16. Just tell them you are with the 'Waters' group on Loop C and they will give you the placard for your windshield/tankbag/whatever to get you in and out of the gate. No one should have to pay for a site, unless someone else comes and scarfs up the unreserved site to keep out the riff raff!

The following people have paid for a site:
Chibbert
Biff's R
Machew01
Arbreacames
DSKYZD
Boxer
Challey
MikeCam
R4R&R
and this wncbmw fellow

Touchton is camping at whatever motel he made arrangements for!

Each site has a wooden platform that will easily take 2 tents, some will take 3. So if you wish to come, just contact one of these guys about sharing. Some already are. Or just show up! We can accommodate any last minute guests! Don't forget the nails or staples to secure the tents!

Per usual, trip planning is casual, with us splitting into smaller groups for rides.

Reminders - Plan on dinner together on Friday night and pizza brought back to the campsite on Saturday night. (Or do I have that reversed?). Breakfast together on Saturday morning. Beer is not supposed to be allowed but they have never bothered us if we are discreet. Use your cozys and police the site for empties.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you again and riding and BSing at the campground. If someone wants to come at the last minute, come on!

See you there!

JB PMed me today and said he wasn't coming after all. He could not get a motel room due to the races.

He was worried we might have long waits at certain restaurants. But we already have that, don't we Mike. ;)

Latest forcast shows isolated showers on Saturday and scattered showers on Sunday. Pretty much a typical August weekend forecast! Not going to get much better than that!

If you skip out Chris, you will be ridiculed mercilessly!

This did used to be known as the Hungry Mother Rain Ride!

In addition to Marvin and the BearKiller, our friend C.A. will also be attending. Here's a "monkey wrench" in the works: I have to go be assessed for a root canal tomorrow at 4PM. The endodontist may do it on the spot tomorrow. Or he may schedule me for the next day or Friday. I canNOT wait longer, like the next Monday to have that done. I am dying here with jaw pain from the cracked molar. The small crack is so small the dentist yesterday had a hard time seeing it, but says a rot canal may work on it. This whole tooth ache business may be ruining my whole riding plans for the weekend. If so, Marvin and CA can just use my space at HM...but hopefully I'll be able to come also.

Shouldn't the first person be a "walk-up" and grab the open campsite? Second person has the duty of posting the "already claimed" campsites...
