Does anyone know what the differences are between the panniers fitted to the K1200/1300 series and those supplied for the F800 series (and the R1200S) ?

RealOem shows them as different part numbers :
F800:

K1200R:

R1200S

Physically (without a close examination) they all appear to be the same items.

But are there slight differences in the mounting points?
Need to know before I buy F800 panniers for my K1200R!

Considered this question recently while negotiating a motorcycle trade deal*. The K1200R/S has right side exhaust; the F800 bikes are left-siders.

Rare unicorn R1200S cases?... I dunno. Exhaust is in the middle under tail.

* A good friend close to retirement inspired me to consider "bucket list", so I'm finally acting on 30-year desire to add K bike.

FWIW
Have had 3.
K75
K100RS
K1200RS
All were very faithful friends and great road burners.

I'll be interested in looking at the 900GS when it comes out. Had 2 GSs' and this one might be a winner as easy to change overall gearing. The first 1100GS had the real low , low gear (1st) and was great but they changed the 1150 to a road first gear ratio and diminished its prowess in rough going. (climbing around in bad retain and having to slip the clutch too much).
Its a new engine with a chain rear drive so can change it around depending on the mission!! (maybe).
The K's are great machines but a bit heavy.

Hoping BWM puts alot into the 900GS, to overcome the buzz from Honda. I'm a fan of the F800 series, but don't know how much of that lineage will pass along to the 900s.

Yes the Ks are all heavy. But well suited for high speed Interstate travel.
