it feels like just what I want to replace my Valkyrie after 222k (she's getting a little heavy for me) - this 1150 has 44k and the seller may take $4000 for it. any advice?

Mileage, owner history, and service history.

Most beemers this information is easy to get.
Personal wrenchers usually save every parts document, and dealer servicers have all the receipts.

If you don't mind wrenching a bit, these are nearly perfect motorcycles.

if not done, Immediately:

-flush ALL brake circuits especially if ABS equipped.

-flush the clutch line.

those can quickly become "gotchas" to me, personally, It appears that age and lack of use are the biggest culprits, not mileage. :)

In retrospect, Id buy I high mileage but well maintained bike before another garage sitter. :) only annoying little problems, never stranded me yet though.

thanks. I did buy it and now have to learn how to maintain. I just filled up the tank w 89 octane and i'm finding out if I should run 91 octane in it. if so, would an octane booster or sea foam type product be ok until I burn up this 89 octane tankful?
