You still might be able to get in. Email Karl Kugler and order directly from him...he had to order extra materials anyway.

Just an update.
karl emailed that he's waiting for some of the parts from his supplier. He expects them any day and he'll be able to ship a day after he gets them. He'll keep us updated....I'll do the same.

Another update....
I got an email from Karl over the weekend saying that his supplier sent bolts that were mislabeled and were not teh correct size. He's ready to ship as soon as the replacement bolts and Allen wrenches come in.

If the Allen wrenches become the rate-limiting factor, I'll instruct him to ship without them...unless anyone here objects...I'm assuming all of you have Allen wrenches...I think all the BMW toolkits have them.

I'm not in a huge hurry, but with or without the Allen wrench is fine with me.

I'm guessing that since Karl is nearly ready to ship, I missed the boat, right? I just bought a set of cases..

Order shipping from Karl today!

Post by bimrluvr »

Hi there.
Just got an email from Karl that he finally got all the parts and he is shipping to me today. He wanted me to pass along his apologies to everyone in the group for this taking so long. His suppliers kept messing up and he is quite embarrassed.
Anyway, I should have the orders in a couple of days and I'll try to turn them around and get them out to you all ASAP, probably this weekend.

Karl got hold of me. He did up a few extra sets for late comers, so he was able to sell me a set. He may still have a couple left.

Here's a pic of what your install should end up like. You're just threading the outer portion of the original hinge with the tap and laying the klamp on the hinge's outer surface , insert the screws thru the lid, the hinge and the klamp block. Easy!

Got mine as well!
Thanks a lot, I appreciate all the effort it took to make this happen.
(I look forward to keeping raingear on the bike by default from here on out...)
